I remember after the game being all excited about the potential playing for a national championship. Thank god Boise State and Syracuse both won that night also.

Oklahoma got their arse kicked that same night by Kansas St and we needed Hawaii to win too I believe. USC didn’t have a conference title game to play in.

That win was epic plus all the chips fell just right in a way that rarely seems to happen for the Tigers.

If we had half of that defense this year we would be #1 in the country

I was at that game in Atlanta. I remember driving home the next day listening to the Saints game on WWL radio when they announced that LSU was going to play for the national championship.

Was staying in a downtown hotel with my wife (then girlfriend), and I made a deal with her: Every time LSU scored a touchdown, we would have sex. One of the best LSU games I ever almost watched!

I was there that night in section 223 with a buddy that graduated from a Big 10 school. It was a glorious night because all the Georgia fans were chirping before the game how LSU got lucky the first time they played during the regular season. The ride back up north on MARTA was sweeter with the other Bulldog fans. LOL

I had to listen to Ga beat writer Mark Schlabach on the radio after the BR game. He was so smarmy and butthurt from that game. How “lsu was so lucky”. No credit at all. David Pollack was the same way. The Atlanta beatdown was so satisfying.

I was there. Vincent breaking off that huge run was a beaut. They were sure we got lucky with the home win in September. Hahahaha

The are all well into their 40s by now so I doubt we would have much success with them.
