quote:Monty's bio doesn't mention he was DC at USC when O was the DC there. It says he was "Assistant Head Coach" at that time.
So, was Bebe co-DC with Monty?
Inquiring minds want to know!
quote:
Monte Kiffin, who is regarded as one of the game's best defensive minds, is in his third year at USC as the assistant head coach after joining the Trojan staff in January of 2010.
2010 USC Asst. Head Coach
2011 USC Asst. Head Coach
Official USC website
So, the answer to your inquiring mind question is 'no.'

Serious question...are you trying to argue semantics or do you think it was Orgeron's defense?

Part of Chief's success at LSU was the time of possession run first offense. Less time on the field for the opposing offense translates to better stats. Not all of the games worked this way but many did.

true. We can easily do better. Clearly overrated.

we can clear this up to avoid the failure of language/title
ed orgeron has never been the top manager/architect of a defense of a BCS/P5 school

I agree...I'm just not sure what Russian is arguing.

Might be trying to save his rep a little, because outside of the 1 year at Tennessee, he was pretty horrible his last few years coaching in college.

He was head coach at Ole Miss and interim at USC. Not a higher manager position on a team than that

usually the bullshite titles are a function of contract and ability to contact the coach. you can contact a DC for a head coaching position and either lower the buyout, allow access, or some other advantage. same with a DL coach interviewing/leaving for a "DC" job

I agree...I'm just not sure what Russian is arguing.
If you or anyone else prefer to believe all of those websites, and Orgeron himself, don't know what his title was, then that's your problem, not mine.
Edit: I linked to SIX websites, not 5, that said EO was a defensive coordinator.

I'll ask again, are you trying to argue semantics or do you believe that was Orgeron's defense?

Orgeron called the defensive plays his first two seasons at Ole Miss

He was HEAD COACH at Ole Miss and also had the title of Defensive Coordinator for at least some of the seasons he was there. Posted on 1/1/15 at 1:02 pm to LSURussian
A thread just got whacked that said Orgeron took position with a link of him and an LSU twitter account....Germans, right?

Sitting around having coctails after a 5 loss season and embarrassing bowl loss...

I saw the thread but didn't get to open it. Gimme da link

I've quoted 6 websites which refute the often repeated incorrect statement on this board that EO has NEVER been a DC. Do you also want to claim that the defense at Ole Miss was not Orgeron's defense when he was the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator there? You're being willfully obtuse.

Now that I know is true.
