That's the game Rondell Mealey went ham. Probably the best RB LSU had that just never quite got there.

LSU routinely got screwed by the Florida bowls in the 90s.

At one time that tie in was SEC 3rd or 4th if I remember correctly. It used to be a decent bowl. I also think that it was a Big 12 4th or 5th tie in. I may have them backwards but Shreveport use to get good bowl games.

I would go with Collins on this one.

There weren't as many bowl games back then, so some of the older bowls that are considered shitty now were actually decent back then.

Yep, there were only twenty bowls back then, honestly the way it should be.

Incredible disservice to LSU that year. Tigers were cochampions of the West w/ Auburn that year and ends up in Shreveport!

I loved that game, the Tigers' uniforms, and the vindication from the earlier home loss. Didn't even mind the cold, wet conditions that night.

I was there. It was cold as hell until the Crown kicked in. Me and a few others stormed the field a little too soon and had to outrun the cops but they were cool and let us run back on the field after the game

My first LSU game ever... sleet fricking everywhere

It was so damn cold that we each got a pizza and just sat on it for most of the second half

Great revenge game! Earlier that year LSU loses to ND 24-6 in the only game in ND history where they had 0 penalties or turnovers. Brutal game. Glad Tigers paid them back. Sent Ron Powlus out with his tail between his legs.
