Me, too. SEZ was rocking that night.
The Houston broadcast is great entertainment, especially the retired coach providing the color. "We gotta, we gotta, we gotta..."

Good season… great after the previous 7 years…Auburn would have claimed a national championship with the season LSU had that year!

Me and my buddy were about to walk out of the stadium, but decided to watch one more play. Kevin Faulk returned a kick for a touchdown, and we stayed to watch the great comeback.

Greatest one man show I have seen in person. All Eyez on 3!

listened to it on radio.

Houston HC Kim Helton lost his shite after the game complaining about the holding no calls LSU got during the comeback. He was always an asshat.

I have lived in VB, VA since 1980.
I was working as a Pizza Hut driver back then, and fortunately had a cool boss.
He allowed me to go on break for the ENTIRE game, and I listened to this game in my car on WWL AM (it came in crystal clear at night, even that far away).
I remember being so pissed that we fell behind that far, but it's one of the most exciting LSU games I had listened to.
When I got home after midnight, after watching the highlights, then I understood how awesome Faulk was that night. He pretty much willed that comeback for us.

LSU was a 35 point favorite in that game. My dad and I were there. 4th quarter the stadium was almost empty. After the come back my dad said “This is why you stay the whole game”.

I'm pretty sure we were down because Faulk kept fumbling. Then again, he also led the comeback. Mealey was awesome in that game too!

I can’t remember if it was in Tigervision but I know I listened to it on the radio.

was at the game, it's been a long time but iirc, KF was suspended for the first half because of fighting with a cop at Mardi Gras in Carencro during the off season, when he came in in the second half he pretty much single handedly won that game for us

I was there with my high school buddies.
Faulk did play the first half and even scored the first touchdown.
However, he had some fumbling issues in the first half as well leading to good field position and scores for Houston.
In the 4th quarter though, Kevin Faulk became Superman and lead us to an amazing comeback. It was a super fun night in Tiger Stadium and one of those games you don’t forget

If I remember correctly, this was also the game where the Tiger Band played “Happy Birthday” to the Louisiana Lottery as part of the halftime show.
The crowd lost its shite and booed the band, releasing a lot of hostility after such a terrible first half performance by the football team

it's been a long time, you're right about him being Superman, he carried that team to a comeback and win that night
ETA: just looked it up, he was supposed to be suspended for that game but he said he was sorry to the cop right before the game and all was good

Hell yeah...
I was sitting by visitors exit one row near field. Faulk was glorious and the noise was cray cray in 2nd half.
Also, I got the head coach so mad telling him he choked, he walked over while leaving field and wanted to fight.
It was awesome :-)

I was there on the 40 yard line right behind the Houston bench. When it 34 – 14, Houston staff pointing to the scoreboard. Faulk’s punt return was unreal. He made one cut and turned it upfield; gone!!! During the game, Houston had a player standing on the bench to see the game. An LSU fan about 8 rows up yells at him “Hey number 9, I am short too and can’t see.” The player turns around, smiles at the guy and steps down from the bench; still laughing about that one.

I know their accolades. In his era there was no player more vital to what the program would become a few years down the road.

I knew guys who left that game in the 3rd and didn’t even listen on the radio on the drive home to NOLA.
They walked into the bar and didn’t believe us when we said LSU won.
