I was only 3 years old at the time so obviously I have no recollection. Many bama fans say this is the biggest upset they’ve ever endured. They had won 31 straight and were 7-0 lsu was 3-5 and not a good ball club and they pulled off the win in Tuscaloosa. I love hearing older fans stories about big wins so what y’all got?

They have a 20 minute highlight on YouTube in my link. Ivory hilliards 2 pics with a pitch back like he’s running an option are fricking awesome

LINK

I’ll be in the stadium Saturday. Lets bring it home baws

That was a huge upset when you consider that LSU team had just suffered its worst loss in TS to UF 58-3 that same year.

That video brings back some memories. A freshman Eddie Kennison, Gabe Northern, Robert Toomer, Jay Johnson. For the bad guys Palmer & Kitchens.
IIRC, Curley signed four RB (including Toomer & Johnson), each Mr Football in their respective states. Too bad that one game probably extended Hudson Hallman’s career for another year.

Robert Davis, Artie Moore. I don’t know if they were Mr. Footballs but they were highly touted.

I was in St Petersburg Russia at 23 years old starting the first American radio station ever in Russian history. I called the guy at wjbo working the board and ask him to please put me on hold so I can listen to the game from Russia in the middle of the night. It was awesome. Left town before my phone bill came LOL

I remember that being a brutally cold day in Tuscaloosa.

And yet, you fail to recall Mawae running the field waving the LSU flag.

That singular picture was the only bright light in a dark time.

Damn dude, did that hurt your feelings? Just made a couple observations from the couple minutes of the video that I watched.

I went to that game and drove in on game day - I had Tech call out for the weekend for Exxon just phone call - had that big dollar a minute cell phone. I called into Bama talk per game and told them we are going to win - they laughed at me and said to call on my way home. It was very cold and all I remember is them putting in #2 to run a wild-cat type attack late. LSU was playing some D all game. We won like 17-14. Awesome day with the LSU bunch in South End-zone freezing!

When Pigs fly - I think they had a 17 game win going with Stallings - maybe - I am awful with names - big tall guy - dark hair - talked like the Bear

I called on my way home - The call in show was like Bama was now in the middle of a losing season - Bama fans can only handle one thing and one thing only - they must be the center of the College Football Universe !!!!!!

That win essentially extended the Hallman era one more miserable year. But it was still great to beat those guys.

It was part of a three game late season winning streak that put LSU at 5-5 going into the finale vs Arkansas. A win would have sent LSU to the Carquest Bowl! To say that hopes were high was and understatement...then LSU proceeded to get thumped by Arkansas and finish 5-6 (their best season under Hallman)

I was at that Arkansas game. Amazing how quickly the LOL Carquest Bowl dream died as Madre Hill sliced through our defense like warm butter.

I think Madre Hill played for Arkansas for 10 years...or it least it seemed that way.

That was like the only year that we rocked black shoes. I loved that look.

That game was 4 weeks after October 9, 1993, the "Never Forget" game.
