Same age as me. I missed this one but went to the Oregon State, Tennessee and Tulane games that year. 1-1-1 in those 3. That Tennessee game (Willie Gault tied it with a late return) was the first time I had ever heard "kissing your sister."

They just weren't well-enough coached to navigate the schedule.

Our coach was a banker at the time he was hired. Think about that.

I was 28 years old sitting at home listening to the game on the radio. We are used to having every game on TV. Not so back then. Since I had grown up listening to John Ferguson call LSU games this night I decided to record the game so I would also have a copy of a Ferguson-called game. I luckily picked a good one. Every few years I get out the recording and listen to portions of it just for the thrill. It's like watching the Warren Morris home run ..... every time is as fresh and exciting as the first time.

You should up load it to Youtube. You might have the only radio call of this game in existence.

Went to game with Dad. It was an exciting game. I was 8. Still remember a man hold a "frick Tulane" sticker after game and then LSU laid an egg the next week.

I am good friends with the FSU QB in this game, Kelly Lowrey. I love hearing him tell his stories of his experiences in TS. He says there is nothing like it or close to it. He was standing by Mike's cage pre-game when they got Mike to roar. Kelly said he almost peed in his pants. He kept having to dodge oranges the whole game.

I'll never forget watching the fog pour over the rim of the North EZ on to the playing field.

Hell, it was great just watching a game without a five minute commercial break every four plays.

Games in the stadium feel so freaking disjointed now.

I'm watching the game and I think I heard the announcers say this is Jimmy Taylor and Paul Hornung. Is that right?

My 5th football season at LSU. Yeah, I crammed a 4 yr. engineering degree into 5 yrs...LOL.

What Jack Daniels allowed me to remember is how great the student sections was that night.

Me too. I was sophmore that year. Certainly was the game i specifically remember from my 4 years there. I was in band year before when we went like 3-8. Then in 82 this game and they went to orange bowl. This night one was one of those events that seldom happen anywhere. Tv for every game ruins the flow. Geaux Tigers. Class of 85
