Finally the entire game. One of the great games in Tiger Stadium history. I am sure many have great stories about this game I have none. I was 14 years old and listened on the radio. But you could feel just listening how magically this night was. Luckily I caught the TV replay on WBRZ after the 10 O clock News.

Wife was manager on duty at the then-Hilton that weekend. We always stayed at the hotel when it was her weekend. We got a call from the front desk in the wee hours that water was pouring through the ceiling fixtures in the lobby at TD's lounge.
Members of the football team had set off the sprinklers on the 2nd floor. And they were being arrogant pricks about it. Except for the kid whose dad paid for the rooms.
It was papered over.
Yeah, I remember.

I was 15. It was my first college football game of any kind. Hooked since.

Strange it doesn't start with the kickoff.
Yes that was a wild night with oranges raining down, a Seminole almost killed by said oranges and the strange fog that rolled over the south side of the stadium in the second half like something out of a horror movie.

I was only ten, but I was there and remember it well.

We ran on the field and fat sheriffs tried to club us ??.
Everyone was trying to hit Mindy Brodhead, (AD's daughter doing sideline reporting) with an orange but we didn't have the arms.
Dalton Hilliard beat them by himself
It was awesome

I was there me and my buddy from High School. That game and the Bama game in 2010 were the best games I've attended.

I was 13 and listening in the radio. I notice LSU is in white. When did the NCAA stop us from doing that? Had to be within a year or so.

I know its been 30 plus years but I didn't remember Dalton having 34 carries I think. Dude was a work horse 5'10" 185 and running into the teeth of the defense. tough as nails.

The most amazing game I've ever attended. Oranges, fog and an arse-kicking by LSU...

1983 they started making all teams wear dark colors. Dinardo petitioned the NCAA to allow home teams to wear white as long as the opponent agreed. Few years later they changed it back to the home teams choice.

Dalton was more like 5'7" to 5'8". I was 8 years old and went on field after the game.
Changed my life!

I was in the south end zone. Literally could not see the upper deck because of the fog.

I was there, freshman at LSU, in student section. Oranges thrown, and when they ran out, people started throwing their stadium seats. Students got on field. I saw one stalk a Sheriff's deputy from 50 yd line to south end zone. About 5 yards behind him, beaned cop in the head as hard as he could with orange.
They chased that dude all the way to the north end zone, tackled him, and commenced to beating the ever loving shite out of him right in front of us. I mean, they really messed that dude up.
Watched them drag his body out, face completely obliterated, off to campus jail.

Well I guess I know what I'll be watching tonight. I wasn't born at the time but I remember seeing clips of this on the monitors in the football hall of fame when I was a kid.

I was there in student section. There wasn't an orange to be found in EBR.

Same here. The Tulane game was a disappointment to say the least.
