re: Why DeBoer is a sketchy hire

All these comments about Saban still being in the building and looking over his shoulder remind me that Saban will be guiding new coach on things like recruiting, staffing, etc. Saban still gonna be involved at BAMA. ...

Sherrone Moore would be Michigan's immediate hire If so, I like my chances to playoffs better at Washington against Moore at Michigan than at BAMA against SEC in a world i've never coached in before, if I'm DeBoer. ...

If I'm DeBoer, I wait and either stay at Washington or go to Michigan where he has coached in that part of the world before. I would negotiate slowly with BAMA and try to squeeze money out of Washington to stay. Rumor was he was in line for Seattle position to replace Carroll at one time. I have ...
Makes sense Pelican. I would think Norvell would jump at the chance to get to SEC and out of ACC. That legal wrangling will drag on for some time. I'll bet he's reaching out to whoever pushes that twitter button to get them to sit tight, as we speak. Agree, you keep doing your job, though. ...
Very interesting that Norvell tweeting about his success in poaching player from BAMA. Doesn't sound like someone who is candidate for BAMA job. This gets more interesting the longer it goes. I'm really surprised that BAMA didn't already have their man before retirement announcement was made. ...

LSU Coaching Status

With all the fun speculation on Bama search, where do we stand with LSU staffing? I saw Bo Davis & Baker but anything else? Just trying to catch up after being out last 24 hours or so. ...

re: Who is Michigan’s DL coach?

I like the thought and hope Kelly is working that angle. I think the one thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the possibility of looming NCAA sanctions at Michigan. May be enough to make an attractive salary offer from LSU something to consider. A coach doesn't want to be associated...
I think the constantly demanding more money or threatening to leave for greener pastures didn't sit well, at least with me. Hopefully, he comes back recognizing what LSU brings to the table and that perhaps the grass isn't always greener on other side of fence. If so, no doubt, to OP post, he can ...

My primary interest is in any update on his physical condition, certainly. However, a football question. It seems that his recovery will take some time. How does this effect scholarship limits, etc. going forward? Can LSU, for instance, change his status some sort of way so that he doesn't count...

Do we find out today the schedule for A&M game next week? ...
How did that philosophy work out for Florida compared to Kelly's strategy with JD. Just chill and let Coach Kelly do his thing. Bottom line is that managing roster these days is more difficult due to "free agency". Nothing any of us can do about it. Let those that get paid to manage it, do just ...
New ncaa president announced today. Are we already seeing change in philosophy from an organization that sees it needs to adapt or become extinct?...

re: It Never Rains in Tiger Stadium

Very good book. I attended LSU from 81-85. The time JEB was at LSU, I was a kid in boy scouts, escorting people to their seats in Tiger Stadium. Reading the book gave me a perspective of players I grew up watching and certainly I understood the 1970s culture of Louisiana and the fact that everyon...
