I was watching the snl rerun tonight with Fred Willard as host (Devo musical guest), and I googled LSU's schedule for that year and saw that was the night we lost to georgia 24-17 at home.

For the old timers, (I was 8 at the time), was this the game the dawgs ran back the 2nd half kickoff for a td, then took control for the win? I spent 10-15 minutes on Google looking for a recap or box score to no avail.

I remember my dad was working one night we lost to georgia. He said he walked in for free at halftime and watched the kickoff td return and 2nd half from the corner sideline. Just a childhood memory I had and wondered if anyone can confirm this was the game/year I remembered.

I was 8 also, and was at the game. I believe you’re correct...

I attended that game and if I my recall is accurate, Georgia had a running back named Curtis Maclendon who ran for more yards than LSU's star Charles Alexander that game.

Willie McClendon: That's the first thought that came to mind when I read thread title. LSU could not stop that guy that night.

That was a tough loss but was what we came to expect at the end of the MAC era. Mac did not beat a top 20 team in any of his final 7 seasons. We led 17-7 at half but did nothing in the second half

I was at that game but for some reason my memory fails me except I do remember Georgia’s running back ran all over LSU’s defense.

Second half kick off returned by Lindsey Scott who also saved uga with miracle catch in 1980 Florida game that led to dawgs only nc. Charlie A got hurt in the game and also fumbled. Sports Illustrated was set to put him on the cover and had story ready on him because he was a Heisman candidate, story never ran. Was a tough loss to take but as others have said Mac was not good versus top 20 his last 6 years.

You keep living and one day you’ll wish you were age 50.

Never whistle past the graveyard, one day you’ll be in it.

I remember that game, I was pissed.

It was LSU’s to lose and we did.

Two programs heading in different directions in retrospect.

And the late Robert DeRutte rocked the UGA QB Buck Belue.

I used to have the same attitude when I was younger. Don't know how old you are, but even if you're in your 20's, you are gonna be 50 next week. Remember me telling you this, and how right I was about this when you hit 50 and beyond. Once you leave hs, time takes off like a rocket.

I found it. You’re correct but it was an 82 yard pass in the Georgia game.

The number “77” had me remembering the 77-0 game vs Rice in 1977.
