From the outside looking in, it looks like 1 of 2 things happened:

1.) O clearly wants him gone and Alleva doesn't or isn't willing to ask the donors to pay the buyout.

So O and his people leaked that Canada would be gone in order to try and force Alleva's hand.

or

2.) The OC's that O was targeting fell through and Alleva isn't going to allow him to promote Ensminger.

I've been saying this.

I see Alleva saying, No I not will shell out 3 million again as LSU is paying plenty of people not to coach already. Figure it out.

We always have the sloppiest coaching changes. It’s never easy because too many people leak information.
