First, no. But second, I'm glad Byrd caught that because I have no faith in Colt David making that 39 yard field goal to win the game. Colt David was a great kicker but he had way too many shanks from under 40 in his career for me to feel comfortable there.

So saban getting run from miami and going 6-6 in '07 at bama had you so scared after the auburn game in '07.

No, we'd have kicked a 40-yard field goal for the win.

I was in the North End zone waiting for the Timeout and kicking unit to come on the field. Then they line up which was actually ok since there were 20 seconds on the clock.
But then it gets down to 11 seconds and I distinctly remember yelling “SNAP THE frickING BALL!” over and over because I had lost al composure.

Then what happened made me yell louder than I’ve ever yelled at any game including the Florida game that same year.

My personal favorite tiger stadium moment.

Because Les Miles can't even win without doing something stupid, he follows up Byrd's brilliance with his game management futility by failing to go for two.

For all of the O haters out their that get called miserable fans because they can’t celebrate a 1 point win over a shitty UF team, I say look at this guy

This guy right here can’t stop being an arse even after Les and the team pull off one of the most memorable plays in LSU’s fricking history on the way to a national championship.

Hold onto your seats, Les haters, because we got at least another 2 years of battling for the SEC West middle of the road crown.

That is back when we had some pretty good offensive production and threw over the middle.

Great game and Les the gambler was at his best.

I have seen that catch again and again, and I am still waiting for him to drop it. It was an amazing catch, and one that helped make Les into the "Mad Hatter." I still think he was an amazing player for the Tigers, and it was truly unfortunate that he never got to play at the next level.

I miss that les miles.

And if he doesn't make the catch, there's 2 seconds left to kick the field goal.

Do we have to revisit this erroneous "we would have lost the game" crap EVERY year? Really?

I was in a terrible place marriage wise and was with my wife at the game. We were in the student section and Byrd caught the ball. She hugged me for the first time in about 3 months.

We started counseling and have now been married for 22 years. Thank you Jesus, Flynn, and Byrd :)

I hope you meet them one day so you can share this story
