Thank you for the update. Problem with State is that Lemonis is on a year to year at this point with the managing of that roster and the fall off in just two years from National Championship. His seat is smoking and getting hotter daily

It’ll be one of LSU (best program, just won natty, close to home), State (closest, 3 former high school teammates on roster), Vandy (parents wanted Stanford for academics, good baseball and great academically), and the surprise team - A&M (recent success, good academics, and his former travel ball coach Chuck Box is now the director of player development)

They went to Iowa. Even his stepdad did.

I doubt he goes mainly because of his teammates. Since he went to Stanford, it appears that academics and closer to home is his main reasons for transferring. His major says undeclared, so it’s hard to know which program fits his major the best.

You’re right, my apologies. Thought I read somewhere that they ran track at Stanford.

for a kid who will end up playing professional baseball in a year and not graduating from college, at least any time soon, why should academics even matter at this point. That's a good sell out of high school in case baseball doesn't work out, but don't really see the sell being as big for a kid who will likely be a top 10 pick in a year

Looks like it might've worked for Skenes before we knew about the fund

If his mom is working tonight I’m gonna ask her and try to sell LSU.

He should become a scholar athlete at Louisiana State University.

If closer to home is a sticking point, Baton Rouge is only 30-45 minutes further from Madison compared to Starkville.

Yeah, I'm biased, but if it's a 100% baseball decision, batting in front of Tommy White beats playing with high school buddies or for an old travel coach.
If Kling clicks, a top 3 of Kling, Montgomery and White would be dangerous.

If he is as high a draft prospect as suggested, you go where you can put up the best stats/ be protected in the line up. It’s his money year. Closer to home than Stanford I can understand, but to go to Miss St. Simply because old high school teammates are there would be idiotic on his part.

It’s a baseball business decision, not high school reunion.

If I’m JJ I point to Paul Skenes. Tell him you are next.
