You don't come to Baton Rouge on Pete Maravich Assembly Center Replica Night and cover the number.

Do you mean the guy who had LSU competing in the SEC instead of being a bottom dweller. The guy who inherited a team that had gone 2-16 in the SEC a year before and, without the benefit of free transfers, had more conference wins by the first month of his second season than the current HC will (likely) have by the end of his third season (in a combined 54 games)? Yeah, I can’t imagine why LSU fans wish THAT guy was still their coach.

you left out future HOF coach that the blue bloods are lining up for, that got canned for being an idiot in buying that team....yeah, that guy.

also....you are slipping. You usually type 5 or 6 paragraphs for us idiots to learn from.

What future HOF coach do you see LSU hiring when McMahon is inevitably let go? If that guy is out there I’m all for him coming to LSU. But living here in a place called reality I suspect he’s not. So I’d be willing to accept the guy who has proven he can win at LSU…and elsewhere.

Great! That shows he can “buy” a team…which is MANDATORY today.

I knew that paragraphs and context weren’t your thing, so I didn’t want to stress your brain too much this early.

It actually opened at 13.5 and has dropped to 12.0 on DK.

I'm very surprised. I truly thought we were looking at 18-20 considering the predictive analytics.

If it were on the road it would be 18 - 21. They probably took the AL game into consideration as well as TAM and OM on the road where they played well for most of the game but couldn't finish and the fact that LSU does play good defense and has been aggressive on the boards. And now you throw in the addition of Green as another big body they can bring in off the bench. If they give the same effort as AL and hit their 3's they have a chance. If they shoot the same from 3 then Auburn is not as forgiving as AL and they will win by more than the 12.5. Of course TO will be a deciding factor.

The Wade years were a lot more fun, but lets stop acting like we were really close to being SEC champs every year.

Games back of 1st place in SEC
2017-18: 5
2018-19: SEC champs
2019-20: 3
2020-21: 4
2021-22: 6

2022-23: 14
2023-24: 5

Wade inherited 3 future NBA players. The talent was there Johnny’s last season. He just lost the team & the fanbase after the Ben Simmons debacle.

To get back to this year’s team, I can definitely see us stringing together 5 or 6 wins in February and getting right back on the bubble. 8-10 in the SEC for sure gets you in the NCAA tournament. 7-11 may, depending on who you beat.

I'm interested in seeing how Green progresses. That athleticism is no joke. He definitely had a positive impact in the Bama game and I don't mean just the highlight reel play.

& the fact that Auburn has not been a very good team on the road.

In fact they are 0-4 ATS in true away games

The problem is we're sitting at 1-5 right now and a loss tonight puts us at 1-6 for January. Then the tail end of our schedule - last 5 games - are all top 15 opponents. That presents opportunity, but also very challenging when we've already put ourselves behind the 8-ball.

I would add, and I hate that I have to keep saying I am a Wade fan, that this SEC today is not the SEC in Wade's term. There were I believe 4 ranked teams during the year he won the SEC. There are currently 9. I think there were 7-9 teams that went to the NCA that year. Projecting 13 this year. It is by far a tougher conference. And add the coaches that have come to the SEC since then. You gotta be really good to make noise on this conference. Not saying Wade couldn't do it just saying its a hell of a lot tougher now.
