3rd and 2 from the Ole Miss 6 yard line with a chance to take the lead and Kiffin struts out the backup QB to run a trick play direct snap that fools nobody.
That play felt like the game and one of the fitting “too cute” moments Kiffin is known for (just look at Ole Miss vs LSU 2022 and 2024). We really needed to take the lead there, not settle for the tie.

Definitely too cute.
Leavitt might be a shytty QB but he's our biggest threat trying to run the ball into the endzone.

It’s not really a trick play. We ran it earlier in the game. We simply got shoved in the line and gave it no chance. Man against man they were tougher in the line.

Watch his presser. He talks about that play. They were going for it but when they lost a yard they decided to kick the FG. Lane will even learn from this. We will be fine.

They’re setting up the play where they fake it up the middle and throw it to the outside. It was wide open on that play, but he never tried to throw it.

I doubt kiffin wanted him to pussyfoot around for 1.5 seconds before trying to run forward

100% agree - we lost the game right there.
That was not the only issue but it was the one that mattered the most given the game situation.

It was dumb in that spot. Leavitt is a big threat by the goal line, was in a rhythm and scored a TD earlier on a QB run. Also, those previous attempts weren't on the road against a team like Ole Miss.
