Every time I read TD I'm reminded how much of a hyperbolic society we live in. Anything less than 10-2 would not be a "disaster". It would be disappointing, but not a disaster.
Conversely, the "it's Lane's first year" excuse falls short to. This is a totally different era than what college football was for 100+ years prior to 2021. Each season is more of a "one off" roster than a program building block. What the roster looks like next year will look very different from this year's roster. That's just the nature of the sport now. That means this year's roster and the year as a whole should be judged on its own independent merit. Now some building block for the future. And with the "free agent" signings couple with the good aspects that returned from last year, this should be a really good team. One where 10 wins is a reasonable expectation. If that doesn't happen it will be disappointing...but not a disaster.

We lost the most important game of all time, its over forever. Waiting for our next coach/qb.....maybe 4 or 5 years. Do we still have an NFL team?
