LSU doesn't need to sign A back, they need to sign THE back.
He needs to fit the offense and is willing to put the TEAM first.

Zach wants to wait his turn on UGA’s bench to play in that high powered Kirby Smart offense

After last night I truly hope Evans doesn’t end up at LSU. Curry is the real deal and I feel bad I ever doubted he could be. He and the 2 true freshman from this year will do just fine. Let’s take a RB who truly wants to be at LSU in this class even if they could be a bit of a project.

Agree. Curry is very, very good and we don't want him transferring.

Well, I say we still need a RB.
My personal opinion(s) on recruits that handle their recruitment like Evans has/is:
A) these 'games', within limits or without crossing certain lines, don't mean shite many times. Once a recruit, any recruit, gets that first arse chewing at spring camp things change. They went from having all options open to them, people trying to woo them, automatic celebrity, etc. to being automatic 2nd at best on depth chart, getting arse chewings regularly, and no options other than to listen to the coaches if they want to achieve their personal goals. It's a wake up call. It's a shame the recruiting process is the way it is because it in no way prepares them for the reality of college ball. You are going to have to spend about 50 hours a week either studying, working out, or practicing (20hrs) just to avoid arse chewings are being sat. You get thrown into that from talking shite, 12 hrs a week practicing, spending more time on the phone than studying, and being 'the man'.
B) the limits are or one of the lines you don't cross is exceptionally disrespectful behavior towards coaches and/or teachers. This is one of those (a) above doesn't fix. arse chewings don't fix stupid OR extreme cases of narcissism. It isn't a 100% moral/ethical stance by coaches either; make no mistake about that. It is mostly related to being unable to develop or coach that player. No big time college gets college-ready recruits; and if you can't coach them up, they are of no use. It also has a huge detrimental effect on the rest of the team.
C) The 'games' have limits too. If a recruit is unable to take personal responsibility for their 'business decision' then there's something wrong. Just like (a) above they are about to be faced with a constant stream of small but impactful decisions. If they are content to let it rest, for the most part, with 'handlers' this is a deflection of responsibility. If there's alot of 'games' and a recruit is happy to see his 'handlers' do such without stepping in and getting it under control future issues are easily predictable.
So while many don't want Evans because of the 'games', the reason why falls under (a). And that is no reason to back off. However, in the case of Evans we have (b) and (c) additionally. Both are reasons to back off.

That used to be the case. The transfer portal has changed that. This used to be Saban's favorite line when camp opened for incoming class. "do you remember all those nice things we said when you were being recruited? Well now your arse is mine!" or something to that effect anyway.

Screw this kid if he hasn't seen by now that LSU is THE team to sign with!
Coach O has proven he can make do with what he's got so let's move on with those kids who are committed to the Purple and Gold.

of course all these comments only apply if he really has already signed Georgia and he doesn't come to LSU. If he somehow choses LSU then I, and the rest of the board, will consider all these comments to be null and void and him a be a great prospect once again, and the tag of the #1 RB in the country will apply once more.

This roster list, if he has indeed signed with GA, after seeing this list, tells you all that you needed to know about the guy. All you have to do is take one look at LSU’s roster then GA’s and it’s an easy decision.
He probably doesn’t want to be at LSU because he will be held accountable to his actions. This kid is in for a rude awakening once he gets on what ever campus he ends up on. All this attention will swiftly shift and he’ll be “no one special ” real soon.
He won’t be given anything over there nor will he have many fans that far from home. He could have came right here and would have been a star if he had handled things correctly. It actually makes me chuckle a little bit. I see so many kids that spurn LSU for unknown reasons and LSU always ends up on the better end when these kids actually think that they will have some sort of negative impact on a big college like LSU. The opposite always ends up the case. The kid screws himself and ends up watching LSU pile up W’s and maneuver itself into a better overall position each year.
I’m not saying that’s the case here but I’ve seen it far too often and it’s funny as hell that those kids actually thought they were getting over on LSU or would hurt this program by not signing. You’ll just be replaced by someone who is just as talented, maybe more so and by someone who has dreamed of being a Tiger!!! What’s sad is many of these kids would have done well here and would have looked good dominating in Purple!!! LSU isn’t the most watched college team for nothing.

I do thing he's an awesome talent. I still say take away the handlers he's still a take, if that was possible.
But back to the OPs original topic...
quote:No, he's not, not if he signed an LOI as his 'camp' claimed.
Zach Evans says LSU is "still an option"
If he did not sign a LOI, as his 'camp' claimed then he's still a no because we can't risk the illegal contact.
In short, he's not an option because he claimed he signed, true or not. Period.

Didn’t feel like creating a new thread, and don’t feel like reading through this one, but has this article been posted yet?

Despite the finality of Evans' recruitment, it hasn't stopped other UA All-Americans from putting in one final word for their program. After practice on Sunday, LSU offensive line signee Marcus Dumervil shouted, "he's going to LSU!"

That is extremely interesting...I have said plenty of negative things and I do believe he is a head case. That thing about new offense is just puzzling! He is either a complete mind f*#k or just playing everyone!

This kid is full of it. That’s 2 conflicting “hints”
I just hope we come out of this cycle with a RB, but can’t imagine guys like this being good for the team.

I'm not buying this. 19 CB's in the last 10 days? 247 probably has a photo copy of his LOI.

Heard from a North Shore fan that the further away he gets from his family the better his chances are of succeeding.
