If competition scares off a would be elite athlete, then he is not elite.

Houston is far too short. At 5’10” he is extremely too short
Is that why they have him in a 10-yard shotgun in HS?

Scouting report:
89 TDs/25 INTs passing over HS career and 31 TDs rushing
TRACK & FIELD
Part of a Jackson 4x100 relay team that won Alabama 4A gold medals as both a sophomore and junior.
Top markers include: 23.18 in the 200-meter dash, 6-0 in the high jump and 17-8 in the long jump, per Atheltic.net
quote:
Dynamic dual-threat signal caller with rare physical tools that might eventually need two hands for all the rings that he has collected while in high school. Made-to-order for a modern spread attack with his quick release and zone-read talent. Ball placement can be a bit erratic when looking to target the intermediate parts of the field, but makes up for the spotty accuracy with his legs and agility as he can exit the pocket and create chunk plays. Lacks consistency with his mechanics, but has flashed the ability to change the arm angle and deliver some high-level throws while on the move in a camp setting, which is certainly encouraging. Also deserves some credit for his touch on deep shots as he has hit his weapons in stride, and in high-pressure situations. Enters senior year with a 33-5 record as a starter and has shown year-over-year improvement in key statistical categories. Saturday success likely to hinge on his ability to progress as a game manager and find a rhythm while playing in a structured environment, but has a chance to emerge as a real difference-maker at the Power Four level with his escapability and creativity as both a passer and runner. A developmental semester or two would be ideal, but athletic profile could warrant situational looks early on in collegiate career.

My son is an On3 subscriber. I think the On3 subscribers are getting the “insider” info first then being reported here. My son texted me the info just before this thread was made.

WOAH last update I saw last night from Wiltfong said he was signing with SC early morning
Would be a great get. All aboard the Lane train

I fully expect our starter to be a portal. So, we would have Duckworth, MVB, and hopefully a bad a starter from the portal.

Bryce Young is 5’10 for reference. Was he too short at Bama or now in the NFL?
Yes to both. LSU defense gave him nightmares in 21 and 22 sending tall pass rushers into his throwing lanes. NFL defenses have copied that gameplan from day 1 that he was in the league.

He already plays in purple and gold

completely agree with you. I was surprised how short he was when he played LCA. Im not sure he's 5'10

quote:Why would it? We have no QB in this class and Pop is not in this class. I also believe that Pop was made aware of LSU probably taking two quarterbacks in his class. If that doesn’t phase him, then why would LSU signing one this class phase him?
I hope it doesn't scare off Houston

Mr Duckworth playing for his second straight state title here in Alabama on Friday.
Kid has unreal ability.

They beat the brakes off St Michael's in Fairhope (Coached by Philps Rivers ) last week in playoffs

I am not saying I don't want Duckworth, I simply stated I hope it doesn't scare off Houston
Geez people over react. I really like Houston, especially in Kiffin's offense. I think he could be a super star.
I am good taking a QB in this class, just made the very common sense statement that I hope it doesn't scare off Houston. I guess people disagree with that...
