Are there any big name arms that we are currently after?

It seems they’re going to bank on development from the current bullpen. May still try to add if they see a good opportunity.

I’d be shocked if we don’t add another arm

I think they need a dominant Friday night arm

Then the result will be the same next year as this year.

This is just not accurate. The defense behind the pitching staff is significantly better.

The pitching was awful. The offense was more than good enough. The defense wasn’t awesome but it wasn’t bad enough to put the majority of the blame on.

The pitching still sucked.

When healthy, the starting pitching was not awful. When you got down two starters, the rest of the staff was asked to do things they shouldn't have been asked to do.

The offense struggled in the early part of conference play.

The defense directly cost you multiple games in the first 4 weekends of the season. If the defense was as good as '25, the '26 team makes the post season.

Most teams ace pitchers don’t just hop in the portal. Especially SEC or ACC. What you are asking is way easier said than done.

Off topic but I always get the FMOL ad with Lexi Zeiss and it just pisses me off that the judges iced her and it cost us a natty.

players can develop, especially guys that were freshman this past season. im sure we will get someone to contribute out of this years high school class and we will add another portal arm to go with the one we have already. we will also get moore back.

we will have a much better staff next year imo

Probably tries to find one or two solid relievers. As for big name guys, they are only leaving if there is a personal/team issue.

That will probably be Cooper Moore.

I know he did not pitch into the SEC schedule, but he had a K/BB ratio of 5.57 and a whip of 1.16

I have a really good feeling about what he will bring next season.

They are definitely looking at adding at least one more arm. Check out the list of second team freshman All-Americans.

They are recruiting multiple pitchers in the portal still, they are far far away from being done there

We arent just taking 1 portal pitcher, expect more like 3-4 at least

We are after several relievers. They also believe in a lot of the talent that’s in the room and I think that’s a solid bet. A better defense will significantly improve the pitching also.

Anyone dreaming of an elite Friday guy coming from the portal should give up, there’s not a single arm in the portal that fits that. It is not flush with elite talent but there are some good relievers

No doubt, they need some LHP, and anything can happen between now and next season, but I do not believe they are "shopping" for a Friday night starter. But you always take a guy if he is a clear improvement on what you have.

As in all things, time will tell.

We should be pretty good in terms of starters right now. We're returning Evans, Schmidt, Moore, Paz, and Rickin. We added the top pitcher in the portal who can also start in Hood.

From a relief standpoint, we need some reliable arms. Hopefully, we can get Sheerin and Garcia back. We'll also have Guidry back. Plog and Lach can hopefully improve, but we'll definitely need some good arms on the back end.
