It's so close to LSU yet we seem to struggle getting recruits from there. Why?

Gump plants. Hopefully, we start to break the trend this year.

Two words. Beat Bama. Simple as that.

This is 80% of the problem. Kids aren't always swayed by the home team just because of proximity to home. They want to win championships, and it's LSU's burden to beat Saban/Bama and prove we can do it.

Yep. If it was, LSU would lose just about every big time Louisiana recruit to Alabama seeing as how LSU hasn't beaten Bama in 6 years.

As much as anything, recruiting is about connections. Sam Petito is the Tangipahoa tie to Alabama. His connections in the area push the Amite guys to whatever school at which he his coaching. It's not a coincidence that Devonta Smith switch from Georgia to Bama at the same time Petito did the same.

Besides Smith, what other recruits did LSU want and not get? I'm drawing a blank.

If Lee and/or Sopsher commit, will this narrative end?

If Les offers Carter at Boys from the Boot he more than likely commits to LSU and the Amite pipeline is never started

No disagreement there. Recall reading he was an LSU fan growing up, but didn’t get offer until after them. He was a top 100/150 prospect geauxing into his sr yr.

No tellin, but we certainly have the opportunity to end that this year. I think we land Sopsher and Lee.

Someone in the Amite area needs to move on that situation. Saban certainly has.

Expect even more recruiting competition in Tangipahoa parish from Bama with Pete Golding on the Bama staff now. Pete is originally from Hammond.
