I mean the verdict is still out obviously but I’m not complaining about having Myles Brennan,Jayden Daniels,G Nuss, and Walker Howard as our QBs.I think we are in far better shape than most schools

Two Super Bowl champions and a 1st overall pick in the same picture?

I’d love to know which two. I assume Perriloux is one even though he looked good in the small window we saw him on the field. So who of Flynn or Russell would you also consider garbage? Jamarcus is the second best LSU QB in history, and Matt Flynn led us to a title.

I don't know about "people" but a "person" did, because there was a thread on it. I called it out for the stupidity that it was.

It wasn't a top 10 QB room at LSU, and it showed.

It’s really a shame how Russell’s NFL career completely overshadows his college career.

Sorry. disagree. two of them were garbage. only one won a championship. if he would have stated two years, we would have won back-to-back titles.

While it is self-inflicted on his part, I don't see how LSU fans are down on him. I get non-LSU fans doing this, because they had limited positive experience with him.

And, I don't think it is racial (obviously, LSU has its share of idiots in the fanbase), because many of those who are absolutely down on him are big fans of Rohan Davey. I think it is a combination of his utter failure in the NFL combined with misinterpretations of the Bama Boy incident that has LSU fans still salty about JR after all these years.

Jamarcus screwed himself but he also went to the absolute worst situation in pro football.

Lane Kiffin was 32 and never coached in the NFL before, Al Davis was full blown senile and the raiders were a disaster in every aspect.

Jamarcus had to hold out and it sign until September because the Raiders were trying to underpay him. Just a clusterfrick all around.

None were garbage. Til this day, if you pay attention when QBs are having their pro-days, and/or throwing at the combine...the commentators would sprinkle in the fact that JR had the most impressive arm and throwing talent they ever saw.

FTR, Perrillouz was the QB when we won the SEC CG in '07, not Flynn.

Out of curiosity, and for the sake of procrastinating, I went back and watched the highlights from that SEC Championship game. Man, what could have been with Perriloux. He wasn't perfect by any means, but he was a bigger threat running the ball than Flynn and Russell. He had a bigtime arm, but could also throw with some touch. That game was his first real start (maybe first actual start) and he finished 20-30 for 243 yards and 1 TD, 1 INT.

He seemingly had all of the tools necessary to potentially be one of the best QBs ever at LSU. Too bad he was a complete knucklehead. Had he not been, the trajectory of LSU and Les Miles could have been much different. If he doesn't get kicked off the team, LSU probably doesn't have the QB disaster they had in 2008. If that doesn't happen, Les likely doesn't completely alter his game approach like he did following the 2008 season. After that year Les was terrified to have an aggressive passing game. Had Lee not been forced into action that probably doesn't happen. Les wasn't a terribly conservative offensive coach from 05-08. LSU arguably left some championships on the table between 09-16 because Les was permanently scarred by 2008

Brennan, Daniels, and Howard were similarly rated out of HS to Flynn, Perriloux, and Russell, respectively.

That's what was waiting for saban at the airport. Three future NFL QBs. Most people don't realize how loaded that 2000 team was.

At the end of the 2006 season, following the Sugar Bowl, LSU was arguably the best team in the country. That team would’ve wrecked shite in a playoff.

This. Two tough road losses. Florida eventual NC was excusable but refusing to throw the ball having the better athletes on the perimeter was to blame for the L at Auburn. That ‘06 team might have been LSU’s most talented.

We’ll get downvoted, but it’s true. It took me reading like 2 of his previous posts to figure it out. He may be too stupid to realize it, though.
