Great stuff Sal. Lots of angry folks around here. Funny didn't BK have a top portal class that was loaded with stars?

Yes but those were some no coaching sons of bitches. Now that we have coaches that don’t have there heads up their asses you want them to get the same class he had at Ole Miss? He left Ole Miss because he wanted players like Haulsey and Delane.

I’m not sure you can base expectations here with history there.

Ole Miss (2025): targeted a lesser known QB in Chambliss who did great, but bigger fish were available.

LSU (2026): targeting #1 QB in Leavitt

Budget isn’t his MO. He was simply a great chef cooking from a pauper’s pantry. Given the option, he’d have used better ingredients to even better effect.

Ole Miss also added 3 4star WR which all contributed hugely this season. Rankings matter.

Who is their best player on offense?
Who is their second best player?

rankings matter but Tranfer portal ranking are terrible.

Do you think Curne is the 19th best prospect in the portal?

Have to believe that's right. Keeping an eye on these OL that left to see how they progress at their new destinations.

Ole Miss actually signed Pierce Clarkson from Louisville in the winter period. He transferred after the spring cause he wasn't going to play over Simmons. Chambliss was one of two QBs they signed in the spring window because we needed bodies more than anything.

Ole Miss had previously paid a good amount of money for Dart (#2 QB in his class behind Caleb Williams), Walker Howard, and Spencer Sanders to come ride the bench. Ole Miss wasn't on a low budget for QB. They just weren't hunting for a bonafide starter.

So a terrible ranking system happened to have 4 of the top 5 teams make the playoffs? Yea what luck huh. You are getting stuck on the rarity not the norm. Count the 4 stars OL Ole Miss got in the portal that started this season. That kind of helps a RB and QB right?

Kiffin has always gone after the big fish. Everyone does, but there are only so many to go around. No one lands them all.

Where Kiffin ( and his staff) have excelled his hitting on those midrange guys. Their hit rate on those guys is excellent.

It’s partly scouting and evals, but it’s also because Kiffin and Weiss have a system that is very player friendly.

Doesn't matter what I think or you. We do not watch players for a living and make assessments. People get paid for that.

Correct. LSU has 3 of the very best at it given past track records.

Did it help Simmons?

And i think ive made my point poorly,

None of those teams were top of the portal ranking because the sights 15
of the top 25 players.

They all signed a ton of players

there are still a LOT of players out in the portal. People need to calm down.

Rankings give you a general sense of how good a portal class is but doesn't tell the entire story. LSU will finish in the top 5 of this portal season. LSU fans are just not patient and generally babies.

Yes but if a team finishes 6th and another 4th it's not an exact science the 6th place team could have a better class. It's all about who can evaluate the players and have them fit what they want to do best. See Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

OOOO great point. And now this actually hurts your side...When sorting by average it went like this:

Oregon
LSU
Miami
TTech
A&M
OSU
UGA
Texas, Penn St, FSU
Bama
Ole Miss

SO now we are at 8 teams in the top 12.

Ole Miss and Indiana are the only CFP teams in the top 25 with total committs. And they are 14 and 20.

Thats just silly numbers

Trust in Lane.

Ignore the salty OM fans.
He and Weis built that team.

We will settle this shite on the field next year and I can’t wait.
