Because UNT and LSU recruit a different caliber of player. Someone who was good enough for JJ at UNT is not a definite for JJ at LSU.

Kid averaged 14 boards and 5 blocks a game playing Juco ball. Rebounds and blocks usually translate pretty well taking this step up. If that kid can come in and play like that he could go scoreless for the season, and we would be lucky to have him.

meh, he's a good player but I don't think he's even a Darnell Lazare and some speak like he's a Tyrus Thomas.

Well it surprises me with those numbers that he didn't have teams all over him. But he has the height, he has the boards, he has the blocks, to me it looks like he can run the floor. that is all we need right now. He doesn't have to score. I'd like to pick him up

Well yeah. I mean next year on, we won't be going after many guys like this. Right now he is a take though looking at our team. I just think that if Jones could go 9 and 7 (I don't know how the new teams affect the games played) in conference next year and maybe squeek into the NCAA tourny......it would change the face of LSU basketball in our fans eyes. To be able to run the basketball and still win would mean so much to LSU.

I would take a Q Thornton right now. IMO Odoh is a better pick up then Lazare or Q though.

Might want to back off a little on Odoh and the release comments.
Smart by UNT to not release him if he does not qualify. Might all of the sudden make it and then he is an option..

I think we need to figure out if he's even interested in LSU. If they aren't releasing him to us, I guess it's a good indicator that he is.

Maybe they are holding out for another football game with LSU or something? I mean we are playing them in Sept and they will make a buttload of money for that. What more do they want?

The problem is that if it is grade related and he can't make it into UNT, he is not getting into LSU.
I am pretty sure we are not getting the full story. It is finals time across the country, so maybe things have changed for Odoh and he didn't meet the JUCO graduate requirements and is stuck in school.
