He is just using LSU because they are so easy ha ha.

I ran into one of his uncles 3 weeks ago. I didn't even know it originally & the subject of football came up. So of course Tristan's came up in the conversation. He told me it was a LSU vs Texas A&M battle but his nephew really LIKED LSU. You are wrong.

I don't know if you noticed but 2 of the top NFL receivers came from LSU. LSU also the two best 2024 rookie receivers in the NFL came from LSU. Maybe, just maybe such results would catch the eye of the #1 WR in country who just happens to not live very far from campus.

Only thing not making sense here is you.

Pardon my jaded attitude, but there was at time not long ago when this actually meant something. I'm hopeful, but I fear the bidding war is just now getting started.

This would be really awesome news if commitments actually meant anything.

I dont put to much stock in commitments these days. We dont even need to look back far on how we got burned, but good early sign. Means were the favorite for now.

I can't even get excited, and no, my post is not being negative. I really like this, but I'll wait til he signs.

I don't think so. It's more like LSU may have tried to put the offer so high right off the bat that other schools won't match before July 1st rule changes.

quote:

Dozens of power conference programs are hustling to reach eight-figure donation goals or are exhausting their collective bank accounts in an effort to distribute funds to athletes before the arrival in July of the new revenue-sharing era and its more stringent enforcement arm. All payments made to athletes starting July 1 are subject to a new enforcement entity that is expected to reject many of these lucrative booster-backed deals so prevalent over the last four years.

As a result, schools and their affiliated collectives have designed contracts for players that distribute all or a large portion of compensation to them before July 1 — a concept described as “frontloading.” This is a way to not only avoid the new enforcement arm but to create flexibility with a school’s revenue-share pool next year. The cash distributed before July does not count against a program’s revenue-share pool cap.

quote:

In Baton Rouge, the specific figure has been established.

“We are frontloading at a level where we are trying to get to or above $13 million,” Kelly told Yahoo Sports last month in an interview from his office. A portion of that $13 was used to support last season’s team. LSU expects to frontload roughly $10 million of it before July 1 for members of the 2025 roster.

The $13 million is more than the collective distributed the past three football rosters combined: $5.5 million last year, about $4 million in 2023 and $2 million in 2022.

“We thought, ‘Let’s push all the chips in,’” said Carlos Spaht, general counsel and former co-manager of the LSU collective Bayou Traditions. “It’s not just because we want to perform better on the field and win a national championship, but the back-counting of these collective dollars will essentially allow revenue-share dollars to go further.”

quote:

The future of collectives under the revenue-sharing concept is uncertain. It’s the “$1 million question,” said Bayou Traditions president Jared Wilson.

Many of them are remaining alive to operate as marketing agencies, arranging third-party NIL deals for athletes that allow a school to exceed the cap.

Drop your phone number and I’ll be sure to text you when he signs.

This is the recruiting board. There will be 40+ commitment threads. Should we notify you on each signage or are you good just being a douche from the sidelines?

I hope he signs and not use LSU as a bargaining chip to get a higher NIL package. Until he signs I will be cautious about him sticking to his commitment

Yes, we’ll take it. It would be wise to line up visits at LSU with Chase, Jefferson, Nabors, BJT over the next year. Gotta keep that fire burning to battle the $$ war.

In case you haven't noticed, LSU is now WRU. It's less than a 3 hour drive to Baton Rouge from his part of Mississippi, so the distance is perfect.

Is it because of the great Qb we will have?

MVB was a great for a freshman on a very bad Mississippi State team. So yes. And who knows with NIL and the portal, our 2026 starting QB might not even be on the team presently.

Wow. I thought this recruitment was still very young. Congrats to the staff for getting an early commitment. Now, we have to hang in to hi which is the really tough part these days.

lol here we go again… just like I tried telling you guys about underwood, keys will not be a Tiger. He is just using LSU because they are so easy ha ha. ______

Apparently, you are one of those casuals. Try looking into the high school qbs looking at us. Educate yourself.

Not to mention our track record of putting receivers in the NFL.
