2 defensive tackles - high 4's or 5. A real stud corner would be nice, but we've got some good ones.

I misspoke, they DID have four 4 star DL. Only signed 2 out of HS.

The Ole Miss D-line will GO NOWHERE against the LSU O-line. And for many years to come...

Wow, you and some others really have a bad case of Ole Miss inferiority complex. For the record, who are the SUPPOSED 4. I just checked 247 composite which I guess you take as gospel and I see a grand total of 2 4*...Franklin and Rush. Sssssoooo, Ole Miss is NOT embarrassing LSU in recruiting but hey if you really think so, quit being a TROLL here and move over to the Ole Miss board. I'm sure they would love your FICTIONAL SPEWED CRAP over there!

All 4 of their dt's are from Mississippi and their class is ranked 11 spots lower than ours.

Uh, Ole Miss only signed 2 players listed at DT position by 247 sports. So not only did they not sign 4 4* DT, they only signed 2 grand total.

No real holes . We just need players to rise to the occasion and if we have a chance to take a high impact player at DL, DB, WR, we should do it. If Wingo leaves the need there will heighten.

Edit- could add a second punter to the roster.

CB does not seem like a hole to me at all. And that also assumes Harris and Chestnut won't be at LSU. You need to take into account Alexander returning who I like a lot and the improvement shown by Stamps and Toviano. Once again, the secondary got a bad wrap...when you are almost last in the league in sacks, of course the secondary gets blamed.

Lsu need 1-2 starters in the secondary in the portal. I like the guys they signed but they are probably year 2 or 3 contributors. Gilbert fills a safety hole but they need 1 CB maybe 2

Teams always can use more CBs but unless LSU can sign Bussey, I'm holding as they say in poker. I like the 3 I named and I didn't include Ryan Yaites who can play CB or S. Also, I haven't liked Sage but some people have said he can play outside CB. My main problem with Sage with his tackling which is why I didn't care for him as a S. Sage and Burns both missed far too many tackles. As you said, Gilbert seems to be a fine fit as an LSU S.

That’s basically three natural CBs on the roster available to play the position.

Out of those three — Alexander was your best, and he is rehabbing an ACL. I wanna see Stamps/Toviano kill it, but I’m not betting the whole house on it.

We don’t have any freaks in this class that are likely to see time as true freshmen, so there is really no room whatsoever for a poorly timed injury.

Need a transfer CB badly IMO.

I think mid-season, at least one of the 2024 CBs will step forward just like occurred this season. Once again, Yaites can play CB as he did at times at Denton Guyer against high class competition. I haven't included Hughes from Las Vegas because frankly I haven't seen enough of him. The CB numbers are fine but yeah, if the quality isn't there that is an issue. I just saw a lot more at CB in the 2ND half of the season than you apparently observed. Get a better pass rush and magically the secondary looks pretty good. Kelly was satisfied with the improvement in the secondary...so was I.

Right! What I was trying to say was that some TROLL LSU fans are pretending that LSU is falling behind Ole Miss. They seem to imply LSU is inferior to Ole Miss. Those "fans" seem to have an inferiority complex compared to Ole Miss which is nonsense.

I'm not wasting a spot on a ss.

I'd rather use that spot at corner, dt, or edge.

Alexander is coming off of reportedly a torn acl, no idea when he will be ready to play next season.

Agree. People tend to minimize an ACL injury these days because surgical techniques and accelerated rehab protocols are better. I don’t think we should count on Zy Alexander until later in the season. I think we need another good portal CB.
