The 17 highest ranked players in the class have netted:
—9 transfers
—6 guys who haven’t contributed at all (Kaleb jackson, Shelton Sampson, Javen toviano, ka’morreun pimpton, kylin jackson, Tyree Adams)
—whit weeks
—DJ Chester

Outside of the top 17 you have stamps, mubenga, and carpenter as the only guys who have seen the field

I mean Stamps and Pimpton are decent. Overall though yes, that class has fallen apart. I fear 2024 will be the same

Stamps is outside of this group, but yeah he’s solid.

I have some faith in pimpton, but he has 7 career catches so to this point he’s basically been a zero

Some guys could've/ should've turned out IMO. We should've found a way to make it work with Heard. Womack was the next guy up at DE with Reliford. Toviano played well as a Freshman, but should be a Safety and had the off the field issue. Kylin Jackson looked really good in the spring but never got much of a look after that.

Pimpton just isn't a blocker but Tyree Adams has looked good when he's in, it's just hard to beat out the current Tackles and he's too tall to play inside IMO.

Man, I still think the 2018 class is the worst.

Yeah it’s a little disingenuous your phrasing. Stamps is clearly a major contributor.

Tyree Adams and Paul mubenga are clearly in line for major time. mubenga actually looked pretty good this past weekend.

So I think it’s a little early to call it on that class. Clearly though your point about the “gems” of that class is valid though

I don't understand this part of the post. the 2024 class has been very good to us so far.

Who would want to play for that coaching staff? They can't win the big games. I posted earlier about decommit and transfer avalanche and everyone jumped on me. I wish it wasn't this way, but facts are facts. Kelly and the rest of the underachievers need to go.

Pretty sire your piss poor take on the 2023 class is way worse than what the actual class will become!

You’re really gonna try to make the case that the 2023 class is good? Lmao that’s up there with some of the absolute wildest shite I’ve ever seen on this board.

Even if pimpton, Tyree Adams, kylin jackson, and mubenga all play well when they get their chance, that’s an entire recruiting class that netted ~8 playable players

You only have 22 starters. Players have 5 years with redshirts. If we get 8 studs then the class is a smashing success.

Some of that is a product of the defensive coaching situation past three years. We didn't evaluate properly. I think it will get better with just a little consistency on the staff as a whole.

And ya'll want to open up checkbooks and pay these unproven highly rated players going forward, lol.

Nothing we can do if the kid legitimately wanted the left tackle spot

I am deathly afraid of Womack leaving. Every time he's played, hes been effective.

Lol, no. He's been OK but not living up to 5 star 2nd year standards. 5 star should contribute 1st year, 2nd should be breakout year. He's done neither in 2 years.

He had two pretty good guys in front of him, don't you think?
