How can we get excited about .301 in a lower league with lower pitching(yeah yeah Sunbelt yada yada) overall than the sec. Are we counting on this being a Dickinson similarity? Tbh unless we need to fill the roster, im not sure he is a good tp get. In Jay we trust right?

Dardar, Caraway or Simpson have never made a defensive play like that I’m willing to bet.

Nice play by 1st base to stretch too

He’s considered a top 40 draft prospect in 2027. That’s as highly thought of as anyone we have returning on our team. Yes…..we can get excited about this

Can we sign the first base too?… What a hell of a stretch

Current as in you mean based off his season Texas State right ? I guess my point was why did he go to Texas State.

It’s based off of how they project not just past production.

This board has a bizarre ignorance as to how modern NCAA is heavily impacted recruiting wise on HS prospects. NIL has negatively impacted HS recruiting.
It already has a massive lack of resources to fully scout all the available potentials and NIL makes it worse because now teams are more interested in proven college players to buy in the portal.
More and more players are falling in the cracks because of this and their best option is to prove it at a small college. Plenty of guys coming from HS ranks may have potential scouts just overlook and then the light comes on all at once. If MLB is scouting this guy as a high pick what more do you need?

Some guys improve when they get to college and receive D1 level coaching, nutrition, and weight program. You can’t look at Texas State with a football mindset. It’s a good program in the Sun Belt, which sent a lot of teams to the regionals this year. There are great players all over non P4 programs.

So your saying he fell thru the cracks because of nil? Go ahead and explain since the board is so ignorant to how a kid's ability and nil cam work against him so much to the point he goes to a school below what his potential is.

Not doubting Texas state at all, just in comparison to a bigger school maybe. I guess like that were saying he improved.

I’ve been trying to follow your argument, but I really don’t understand what the point is. Are you saying smaller schools do not have guys that are capable of playing at Texas, LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc? What does where he was recruited out of high school have to do with anything? I’m honestly curious to what the point is.
