It needs to go. Many of these kids don’t even know what it means. What would be a proper replacement that truly reflects what they are doing when they say the current term?

You mean like when colleges pull offers at the last minute. Sword cuts both ways. Hell, LSU dumped Jalen Lee just last year.

"Strongly considering". All other offers can just be "considering". Thats about all it means now a days anyway

It's a verbal commitment that can be be broken, it's not an obligation. Who cares.

It's not my creation, but declaration (of intent) is the best I've heard.

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure you're following directions and respecting these kids decisions

Exactly, they want to troll, lead on, and jerk fan bases around when they have the spotlight, but you’d better respect their decision.

Exactly. They are schools committing to give the kid an athletic scholarship, but until the paperwork is signed it's meaningless. But some people only get bothered when 17-18 year old kids do it for some reason.

It’s funny too because it seems to me that the rise in the number of kids bailing on commitments happened about the same time as the rise in the number of schools pulling offers after players commit publicly.
It’s a two way street. You can’t expect a commitment to mean anything if an offer doesn’t mean anything.

How about "future quiter"?
