quote:the correct answer is give his brother a job, locally. Maybe on campus.
I thought his brother dropped out of JUCO? He cant qualify for any D1 school right now.
I think this whole "offer my brother" thing is just reading down the list of things to say from Saban to keep things distracting. It makes absolutely zero sense for him to say something like that when his brother dropped out of JUCO, how can he even go to any d1 school?
A) something that doesn't count against the 25 or the 85
B) something that can virtually disintegrate if there are shenanigans
The idea isn't that Rodney be on the team, the idea is that he gets something out of it... so give him a job that pays for his school as a non-athlete let Ish have him close.

Blair Angulo
His accuracy on CB's is like 95% or something.
for comparison, Shea's is 77%

I posted Blair's stats on here yesterday, he is in the 90s% for both his picks this year and all time. He seems to be a reluctant picker, only picks when he has a really solid idea of where the prospect ends up. So that obviously speaks volumes about our chances with Ika.

Has Billy Embody make a CB for Sopsher yet?
Posted on 12/13/18 at 1:20 pm to bayou85
Yes. Billy CB'd Ish to LSU 1-10-18.

IMO Handy is down the board from Sopsher, Ika Young. I think LSU can get him in Feb if they want. No way he wants to end up at Auburn. That place is a dumpster fire right now.

Oregon fan here - Blair Angulo is pretty good at knowing what the kids from the Rocky Mountain region are going to do. But he also really pumps up those Crystal Ball % percentages by putting in picks the day before the kid commits and it's obvious, flipping his picks, and by predicting that a kid with no offers better than Boise State will commit to them.
From the Oregon side, we have no idea if Ika goes to us or LSU. It's a toss-up. He probably doesn't even know yet. Oregon is making a big push for some Poly guys by getting some of our current guys to peer recruit, but I don't feel great about our chances for Ika. There are two types of Poly guys, the religious/family ones and the Trey Lealaimatafao types. Even if they are the religious types sometimes they have dads like Brandon Kaho's, where the kid signed with Washington, moved to Seattle, and once dad needed money he wound up in Tuscaloosa.
Ish Sopsher is expected on his official in Eugene this weekend. We have no chance, but maybe we can at least help him get Bama to upgrade him to a top of the line Charger.
Bama is 99% likely to have taken Kayvon Thibodeaux from us. We don't go head to head with Bama nearly as often as y'all, and I feel for LSU; it's like trying to kill a bear with a penknife. Even when you think you've got one, Tosh Lupoi and his coffee cups drop by.

Upvote for this.

Oregon’s in home will be today and will be important. With these cbs flip flopping, I doubt anyone should feel overly confident. I like our chances but playing for Aranda would be a good fit too.

Pretty sure Aranda meatball and Bill Busch are going in home today as well.

Whether he is eligible for a D1 school after dropping out of JUCO has to do with his grades from high school. Did he go to JUCO for academic reasons, or for developmental reasons?
If he was eligible out of high school then he's eligible now.
If he is not eligible, then the whole Rodney discussion is moot.

I know Orgeron did his in home. Oregon is sending the entire crew today.

Most of the players LSU gets are those who either commit early or make their choice known silently well before signing day. Those who have gone up to and during signing day they have not done well with. A staff can only do what they can do. There's going to be some that get away, Landon, Cameron, Tony Brown, Surtain etc. And though they have lost out on more than they have gotten I believe that trend is coming to an end. I believe LSU will start winning more of these battles than they will lose. If Pickering wants to be at LSU, that's where he will be. If mama wants Ish at LSU, that's where he will be. Instead of losing the Ika's to other schools, LSU will start getting them. Still wish Kenyon Green and Handy would have stuck with their original commitments, but I suppose you can't win them all.

We will flip one of the MISS SDEs come January. Book it.

What are you talking about? You already guaranteed Young!
Posted on 12/14/18 at 10:20 am to whitefoot
Lol I didn't guarantee anything. I simply said that's the end game the coaches are hoping for and I think we have a solid shot at him come January when he visits. I'll never guarantee anything with recruiting. That's like a doctor giving you a guarantee that they're going to cure you.
