Dude, are they DE's or DT's?

They are DEs in a 3-4 by definition, size wise they compare to DTs in a 4-3 was the comparison point I was using.

There's nothing wrong with this:

SDE NT SDE

It's factually incorrect, again, a strongside defensive end is the definition of a 4-3 defensive end who lines up on the 7 technique typically (outside of TE). In a 3-4 defense you have 2 large sized DEs who line up on the 3/4 technique typically.

Just figured it was less confusing this way.

It's way more confusing when you are talking about a 4-3 DE position for a 3-4 defense. I realize you're just looking at a recruiting profile where guys like Pickering are listed as "SDE" but again, realize that's a specific position for a 4-3 defense, we run a 3-4 with a left and right DE lining up on the 3 and 4 technique. They fit that profile, but recruiting services just put WDE/SDE for DEs because 4 DL based defenses are still the norm in college.

Hopefully O learned from last year with the Surtain BS. Once he gave Sophser exactly what he wanted by offering his brother and then Sophser still didn’t commit O should have seen the end game right then and there and moved his attention in a different direction. Yes it would be nice to keep all the homegrown talent here but don’t hang yourself out to dry and risk looking like a fool while an 18 year old kid plays games with his recruitment. It’s obvious the Bama guy in Amite has Ish locked in or else he would have been over the moon the be able to play with his brother at LSU together like he says he wants. I hope Ish knows after he signs with Saban all promises are null and void and he will never see his brother wearing a Bama uniform next to him.

No. Not right now. Not enough to post this it a hundred times.

That's very puzzling to me, man...just saying.

I think we need a lot of help...we either need to land more this cycle, or we'll need a transfer at this time next year...and I wouldn't bet on a transfer DL with the way next year's HS DL crop looks.

With the way college football is now, there's still a lot of time and opportunity to do something

To be honest I am not in favor of a
2 for 1.

I would like to see Sophsher at LSU but
I always thought that if he really wanted to be at LSU he would already have given his commitment or signed.

Truthfully if his heart is elsewhere then that is where he belongs.

Fair enough, man...DE's it is...can't wait for multiple people to think I'm referring to buck LB's now when I call them that.

If you're talking about our defense, there should be zero confusion.

Agree, but there will be...it's inevitable.

There has been a question whether Rodney would even be eligible for months. Now that he’s not and has to move to 2020, this is:

1. A shock to everyone, despite Ish mentioning this almost exact situation a couple weeks ago.
2. Some kind of master plot by Saban, when it’s just a player not taking care of his academics.
3. Supposedly a failure by our coaches who also are being accused of having no idea this was going on being blindsided by it (not true)

According to some on here Sopsher is a silent commit to Bama...and I believe that to be true. Why silent? Keeps unnecessary heat off of Ish in Louisiana

I don’t agree about it keeping unnecessary heat of Ish in Louisiana if they knew he was a silent commit. People in Louisinana would have more respect for Ish if he was honest.
If he’s silent commit leading LSU on he is just a POS.

Owell I don’t even care, we stole Ika and he’s looking beastly. Throw that in either Shelvin and Livingston and the D-Line haul for next year we’ll be fine.

Not directed at you jdix

The family played this perfectly. One son goes to Bama, and the other gets a bag of cash to go away.

Or, everything I just said is BS. Who the F knows?

when you see a girl you like with a scumbag, even though you treated her well and took her out on dates and treated her like a queen, it's not bc of matters of the heart, etc.

it's bc his dick is bigger and he drives a nicer car

Honestly we need DEs and Ish is not a DE. He’s 20+ pounds away from being a DE.

Getting Ika takes the edge off losing another NT.

But we still need DEs

The difference between now and then is that Young, etc. are still an option, visiting, and probably not getting told "no room". That last one is the big one. If that's true, and I want to believe it is, then they did indeed learn their lesson.

The lesson isn't in what recruits do to (or for) us, it's in how we respond. The way it looks right now, seems we are reacting how we should and not having any self-inflicted wounds like sending Goodrich away.

People if Ish was going to Bama guaranteed he would of never dropped from a 5 to a 4 star. Also I can’t wait till he signs with the Tigers.
