I'm honestly fine with this. Getting Ika softens the blow tremendously and we have 3 weeks to go HAM after our remaining DL targets. It also frees up the Rodney scholarship to maybe take a chance on a grade risk (Parker/Pickens) and Hampton.

I'm sure they promised to pick up Ole Rodney when he leaves JUCO

Vol was any of this known by our staff?

Obviously not Vol here, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume we were the last staff to find out about this. It just smells like an Alabama/LSU recruiting battle.

Everyone assumes prospect is all Bama, LSU gets confident and feels like the ball is rolling their way, we get closer to signing day and find out a back breaker that Bama knew about all along.

We are always a step behind those frickers on the recruiting trail.

Ika is a different position, though.

We better hit on at least one of our SDE targets in the next 2 weeks.

We only need one, and BAMA can't sign them all.

There are 3-4 very good players DL out there and as long as we sign one, we are in very good shape. If it's ISH, great. If not, roll with who wants in.

Thank GOD we got out of this mess and absurdity having to take Rodney!!!!

he absolutely needs to be held accountable for putting so much into getting Ish for so long.

Please explain "putting so much." How do you know how much he put into Sopsher? Have you been tapping phone calls? Tailing Sopsher? Do you have an inside source?

How much should a coach put into a five-star in his own backyard? What do you think would have happened on this board if O had announced he was cutting ties with him?

similar to the Surtain situation from last year

How do you know how much effort the staff has or hasn't put into other D-linemen? Do you think OOS players just swoon and fall into LSU's lap at the very mention of a scholarship? Sometimes, they just strike out.

I guess that frees up 2 ships for LSU to use. I didn't think Ish would ever do anything here anyway.

Oppo, I realize it’s not always the preferable route but we can still grab a guy or two from the JUCO ranks if/when needed.

He isn’t though. Ish thinks he’s a DE but he isn’t. He’s bigger than bamas starting NG for Christs sake

It's been time to drop Ish for quite some time anyway. When we offered Rod because Ish said that was what he needed to see to commit, but then still wouldn't commit... it told the whole story right then and there. He was never coming to LSU no matter what we did.

Ish has big potential but there are several other guys still on our radar that have lower ceilings but are more developed right now. Get two of them. Rod wasn't worth wasting a scholly. If nobody is available on NSD to take the spot set aside for Rod, then use the spot on a transfer or save it for next year.

He didn't have 2 SDE's signed in December...that tells me all I need to know. He was holding out hope for Ish and Rodney, and now he's getting burned again.

The rest of your questions are retarded.

I've already answered this, above...the fact that we didn't have at least 2 SDE's signed in December tells us the story.

And, yes, I agree that sometimes they just strike out...that was what I was saying about O being held accountable...for striking out. I guess we do agree, in the end.

Who, though? I don't see a whole lot on 247 in the JUCO ranks...do you?

Honestly I'm not even mad. The Ish drama is exhausting and even though he might turn out to be a stud he has a lot of red flags as well.

I'm more interested in getting at least 1, hopefully 2 of Pickering, Young or Moore.

One plus Christian Williams would be good too considering the depth of 2020 DL talent available. I think we need another CB because I'm not counting on Hampton to stick.

We'll see about that. I know where Ish wants to play, but let's see if he ends up there.

But, my statement was more about defensive line talent/depth in general. I think some of these guys can move around a bit.

There is no end to saban's shenanigans...it's the same in every cycle. His goal this cycle is to keep LSU from landing elite exterior DL...I truly believe this, and he might prevail.

If Saban had that power he'd be using it on 1) Clemson and 2) Georgia. Why would he spend his time messing with LSU?

I'm worried about the exterior line in 2020, man...we can't count on the true freshmen we're anticipating landing next cycle.

We better pray that Logan and Farrell stay after 2019, and we need to hope that at least 2 out of Thomas, Cotton, and Jenkins are legit by then.

I do think Ed O hits on one of Young, Pickering, Moore and Fuller...hope I'm right about this.

Full court press on Byron Young!!

According to some on here Sopsher is a silent commit to Bama...and I believe that to be true. Why silent? Keeps unnecessary heat off of Ish in Louisiana until signing day and it keeps kids like Byron Young, that are also SDE, from being scared away till signing day.

Young and Parker are the 2 most important recruits left on LSU's board IMO.

Basically agree...need at least (1) more of each a SDE and OT in this class...cannot miss on those without it biting us hard in the arse after next season.

There is a reason my comments on Sopsher over the last year has always included the statement "you guys do this to yourselves every year".

The reason I say that is because you guys (not you Egg) do this to yourselves every year. EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

The Alabama game is as much mental as is is physical. In saying that I think Saban messes with our heads with these Amite players and we have to stop it if they don't want to play for LSU them we have to go elsewhere. I think most of us believe Ish is a Longshot so let's quit letting him do this and quit offering.
