There seems to be a problem person in West Monroe. Major LSU fan base but someone at school is in these kids ear.

Is Slade Bolden really that good? It seems he is getting Cam Robinson level of attention on this board which seems a little unwarranted.

Monroe has had a bama problem for a while.

The eye doctor in town is one of the big handlers for bama.

I personally would never visit him knowing that, but that's just me. I would go to his partner or another eye dr.

It was said that he was leaning that way 2 weeks ago. They rolled out the red carpet. THE ENTIRE STAFF WANTS HIM. They had video? comparing him to the slot receivers in New England (same type of receiver )showing him how they'd use him the same way, etc... This is what recruits mean when they say "SHOWING THE LOVE". A real plan for their future, Not how many calls, texts, they receive.

WM has 3 other big time recruits in '19 and '20 coming up whom they are also interested in.

LSU couldn't even get the RB coach, WR coach, OC, on the same page to say if they even wanted him in Baton Rouge. Hell, one of them didn't even know who he was at one point. This is what's called "NOT SHOWING THE LOVE".....

It is.

I do find it funny though how much baseball was supposed to be a factor in his recruitment. And then Bama entered the picture and the story now is that baseball won't factor into the decision at all.

So when Mainieri is on the fence about him it's a negative for LSU, but when Saban says you can't play baseball it's all Roll Tide.

What a fricking flake.

I agree. He's currently the 38th ranked prospect in the state of Louisiana and plays a position that arguably is the easiest to fill in all of college football, WR. LSU has 2 WR's already committed and is in the hunt for the top WR in the nation along with another 4 star LA WR. Yet, people are losing their minds that LSU isn't falling all over themselves to sign him.

Simply put, he's the board's "great white hype". I'd much rather see LSU sign another interior lineman (if possible) vs a 5th WR.

This is widely bandied about on this forum & is mostly, if not all, false. As I've said before, the northern part of the state has been essentially viewed (and treated) much the same as OOS recruiting. The recruits here simply do not get the same degree of evaluation and familiarization with the staff as does the southern part of the state. This is a an irrefutable fact and one TCU, Alabama & others are very aware of and capitalize on it. I have strong hopes Coach O can alter the landscape on this but I know it will not be done overnight. Missing out on Bolden stings, he is grossly underrated & it will show wherever he ends up.

For real.

He's a pretty good player, but we have several better on our board. He's not worth all this attention.

I honestly didn't see Bama taking him, but maybe Saban is worried about losing his footing in LA with Orgeron taking over.

And it showed.

I'm just telling everyone on the recruiting board what has been known here for the last few weeks. If he's not good enough for LSU, then so be it.

Teams evaluate players differently. Sucks, but it's part of the recruiting process.

LSU has to do what's best for them, just like Bolden has to do what's best for him.
