Not anything breaking news wise but was on the Bengal Tiger Podcast

Good news is that when the staff loses a player they immediately get back to the board and replace.

I get it, but just because we know it’s likely doesn’t mean it’s not an issue that they’re in this position. Bussey would be a must at that point.

I had to put some positivity on it . They want to build depth through high school players. That's what they've been missing.

Hopefully, with a better prospect.

I listened to it, and that's not really what he said.

He said it could happen, but he didn't have any specific information that it would.

He also said LSU was very high on their recent CB commits, and he was as well, and that there were others they were doing senior season evals on that could be possible commits. He basically said he wasn't worried about the CB class.

By pure star ratings wise probably not as the case with Ondre Evans.

Are there any more in state guys we may be looking at?

If we're going to start reaching, I'd rather it be in state.

He’s about to visit Tennessee for the Georgia game and is 80% about to flip.

Frustrating for sure

Didn’t Shea just say days ago that they got him back to being solid? Or was that coming from someone else?

I just can't see both cooks and steeples making it through this season if we lose Bates too. They would have to have a really impressive replacement to keep their jobs imo.

Maybe steeples gets another year simply because he's learning on the job but it's hard to see kelly keeping both around another season if we lose another top DB. Especially considering how our DBs have looked on the field this year.

Whatever. Its fine. Good player but we can afford the loss at a position where we've accumulated so much high quality depth like DB. Evans and Bates aren't major losses IMO.

This is fine.

Steeples at least has a chance to be good.

Cooks has been terrible everywhere he's been.

I don’t want any full time positional coach having to learn on the job. That’s what shadow staff is for.

This DB situation is becoming a massive problem.

We're suddenly attached to the stigma that this isn't the landing spot for top tier guys.

Which is pretty fricking wild since we've been DBU for awhile.

shite is bad. We need to get some depth that they can have in the program 2-3 years and develop. This portal for a year isn’t working

If we lose Bates and Evans and don't hit on another top ranked CB, that with the secondary performance this season makes it hard to justify keeping either.

It may not be a fair assessment of Steeples and/or Cooks, but football isn't always fair.

They have to get proven DB coach here with a track record for developing nfl players.

This ain’t going to get it done. Steeples gotta go
