Thankfully the freshman have selected actual music and it isn’t a full routine full of drums and club music. That said, choreography is still much better this year.

Lots of hiccups, but i think we’ll get it together. Join Tiger Spotters if you can!

Yes! Choreography on beam and floor is much better! You can see ACKT had more time to devote to the floor routines this year.

A lot of wonky double layout dismounts on bars.

But you can see that we're starting at a much higher baseline, as compared to last season.

Still work to do but the majority of the mistakes I saw tonight were nerves getting the best of kids at times. Ryan’s was scary but that was a complete fluke. She is doing 1.5 in the gym with ease right now. Pretty normal for this time a year, especially with COVID. It will get better

This freshmen class is gonna do big things once they get more reps and confidence. The routines and skills are there.

You know things are getting real on Twitter when Stephanie Lyles starts commenting. The trolls have begun.

They were definitely feeling the nerves tonight based off what I saw in the other intrasqauds. I am just a tad concerned about dismounts off bars though. Also, perhaps they were just playing around with the lineups, but they seemed a bit off too.

I really like Sierra on floor. I hope she gets a spot, but I feel like they really want to let the seniors have as many spots as possible. Some of the same things we saw with the football team this year...

Also, people are losing their minds on twitter and Facebook over LSU having this meet and the lack of masks. They are saying we let an ill athlete compete? I’m not sure where they pulled that out of their asses. I knew the sport of gymnastics in a Covid world would be a tough go for these miserable people with fragile minds to handle.

LSU looked a bit rustier than usual tonight as the team had to quarantine due to contact tracing.

As far as bars, I feel the body of the routines are 9.9+ in quality but just need to stick dismounts. I think Most of those routines are fine. I don’t see Brock in the lineup but it can get better with more time with jay. The only dismount I truly worry about is Alyonas and maybe Bryant (because it’s very difficult)

LSU did not have an ill athlete compete. Some already caught the virus and are recovered. DD Breaux already got covid before as well.

I immediately left the FB group tonight after a poster say she understood why Alyona choose lsu before going on to calling her “uneducated like LSU people”. That page has become trash and their mod is just as dumb as the rest of them. Half of them are losing their minds as they have all fall over everything LSU. They had an entire thread attacking Campbell for not wearing a mask standing next to her roomies

I left that Facebook group over a year ago after all the hate LSU continues to get. There’s only so much we can do to defend our girls against a blatantly biased mod when she basically has a mentality of “either you agree with me or you’re a dumbass”. Also Bryant can stick the double front cold; seen her do it many times. I think her best bet of consistently sticking her dismount would be if she does the double front half out that she showed today. It’s her better dismount

I deleted my Facebook page back in 2015/2016. Twitter and Instagram are all the social media that I can handle. That’s when LSU first started getting flack because they were becoming a good/better program and people were starting to get jealous then.
And did you all see the rants on Twitter that TripleTwist posted about LSU? These are the same twins that run the All Things Gymnastics Podcasts. They interviewed Jay Clark a few weeks ago. That’s why I don’t support them! I refuse to listen to that podcast. Ever. They are so two faced and hypocritical. And I noticed that they posted the rants on their TripleTwist and not All Things Gymnastics Twitter page. I called them out on it. I can’t with them.

Completely agree and she did it well today. Bryant’s gymnastics is eye popping. She’s gonna have a big year.

Side note, Sierra Ballard doesn’t get talked about much, but her floor is gonna be something else if she can perfect that double layout, her tumbling and dance is really good.

Overall I’m excited. The talent and the pieces are there for a big run. A lot of depth and different styles of gymnastics to choose from. We aren’t a finished product by any means but getting some of the nerves out tonight will go a long way in a month. I look forward to seeing it all come together this season.

Anyone know what’s up with Courtney Goodrich? She’s still on the roster and has LSU gymnastics in her Instagram and Twitter bios but isn’t on the poster. Maddie Rau posted a photo on her story with the sophomores and Courtney is not in the photo

This is not going to be a popular post but lsu can do better with covid protocols. When the gymnasts aren’t competing they should be wearing masks and social distancing same with audience - it’s really not that hard. I don’t agree with the tirade of abuse they are getting on twitter at all as people generally are harder on lsu but we do need to get the simple things right to stop the spread. Even if everyone was tested before the meet you can still have covid and be spreading it and it doesn’t always show up in tests straight away ! Was pleased with gymnastics overall and excited for season just hope we can sort out the covid kinks and get people following the rules both the people on the floor and in the crowd.

As far as I know, the crowd seating was distanced and groups sat together. If your group is people you live with- what’s the point in masking?

Do the athletes have any control or input into what about their health is shared or kept private? Like was Olivia dunne give the ok to her COVID status being discussed In the arena/broadcast? Seemed strange to me when DD blurted that out.

Can we just talk about how good Olivia Gunter was on floor? Tbh, she is the best performer on the team. Definitely stood out! And she drilled all of her landings too.

She has improved leaps and bounds since last season. SUPER excited for her and hope she’s able to earn herself a spot in the lineups this year

in an enclosed space? it's to insure that the ventilation doesn't carry the virus to other people around the arena!

Yes Gunter was a highlight for me. I was really surprised to see they added back the front toss to Kiya’s routine. Thought once they took it out last year that it’d be gone for good. Also don’t think they need it in Elena’s routine. That’s difficulty that’s not really needed.

Also, wish they would have taken the switch 1/2 out of all the routines except for Campbell. If they do use Ballard on beam, that series just can't stay, it's an automatic deduction.
