So what happens to gymnastics and other non revenue sports now that the Supreme Court has ruled against the NCAA for essentially not paying football and basketball player fair market value. Funnel that football revenue to football players and there isn’t much left for the non-revenue sport

Clemson starting gymnastics in 22-23! New ACC gym conference for 23-24!

They will be a big draw for many recruits.

Very likely. Zoe and Ariel also had bad blood due to Maggie Haney situation. Zoe had long been gone from UCLA commitment.

then UCLA upgraded their recruit situation to Selena Harris and cienna alipio and likely asked her to walk on or get partial aid- it also doesn’t help that she barely competed this year.

I wish families would put these programs and coaches on blast when these types of things happen. I realize that it’s a business buy it would greatly help future recruits know who which coach is trustworthy and which are just great salesman

Honest question- has LSU ever had a big name Asian gymnast? She doesn’t seem to be following many schools (cal, Stanford, Utah, Florida)

quote:

Future LSU target Katelyn Jong won the AA in the junior division. Someone to watch for over the next couple years.

It was actually gone last night for a bit then she added it back. “I’m so excited to compete in NCAA” is a lot different than “I’m so excited to compete at the university of Washington”

Wonder who won the Leah smith sweepstakes. UW no longer listed in her profile…

Leah smith had a walk-on offer at Cal. Check her initial announcement - you can read a lot by the wording of the announcement. Washington offered full ride.

Her gymnastics greatly improved this year after the move to World champions center.

Washington is currently in search of new coaching staff- they probably asking her to met new staff before trying to get out of her NLI

Michigan proving you don't need team full of elites to win it all.. their 3 AA above 39.7 were all JO gymnasts..

NLI states multiple times that you are committing to a program not to a coach..

Maybe gym isn’t as cutthroat as football or basketball but people are just releasing athletes from their obligation at the last minute. Who else is there left for them to recruit this late in the game. Maybe with COVID situation, she can ask for release to be closer to home. LSU is a lot closer to Texas than WA!

she's signed her NLI - unless Washington releases her (why would they), she'd lose a year of eligibility.

Technically, these coaches aren't even supposed to be contacting her at this point.

Lol- so there weren’t 8 positives on the gymnastic team like the reliable source claimed?

i guess you have not have read their star criteria being based on both scores and video reviews rather than subjective judgment of NCAA potential? With poor or not enough scores, they can’t score someone based on their stated criteria.

all the 5* JO gymnasts they've ranked happened to have extremely high and consistent JO scores which seem to translate well to college. 3 out of the 5 top AA gymnasts only competed JO... (Wojchik, Bryant, Loper)

Feel free to come up with your own rating and then compare 3-4 years later on which rating criteria was better at predicting success.

she clearly has a particular school she is waiting for... i can't imagine she's waiting for a school as the top ranked 2022 recruit unless her personality absolutely sucks in interviews and direct conversations.

Selena Harris dropped a 38.850 in her first meet.... cant believe she’s uncommited

Can someone get this 2022 gymnast on LSU’s recruiting radar?

Looks like she was injured last couple year but just qualified for nastia with a 38.9

dead period extended through 4/2021. wonder if any 2022 will actually commit between now and then or if are in a long term holding pattern.

Ummm. No offense, LSU alums but maybe the girls actually care about academics??

UF is 6th rated public university. LSU isn’t in the top 50...
