We are stuck right now. There's no good answer to the current situation with our dl coach. You either fire him or move him to another off field job and that's a bad look for lsu unless Lindsey is in board with it.
Otherwise, you wait it out and don't have your dl coach actively coaching and recruiting until he is healthy again.
Feel bad for Coach Lindsey, but LSU football is bigger than one employee. We have to move on here. As harsh as it may seem, TYFYS Coach Lindsey

That makes sense from our point of view, but firing a coach on medical leave wouldn't be good for us long term. Sends the wrong message to other coaching candidates in the future and would create negative pr for us on the recruiting trail as well.
Best case here is Lindsey himself says I can't come back. Get someone else in this role and move me to an admin spot. Other than that scenario I am not sure how you would spin him being let go in a positive manner.

It’s all Coach O’s fault!
Glad you're on the same page here. Less than 40 scholarship athletes on the roster when Kelly took over is 100% his fault.

Who can you hire right now to replace him anyway? Nobody that you’d want and an interim can’t really recruit effectively either because they aren’t going to be there.
Just have to let it play out and evaluate at the end of the year. It is what it is.

The lack of talent on our team started with the recruiting classes of 2019 and 2020 by Coach O.The great majority of these recruits did absolutely nothing at LSU; many of them simply disappeared. That is why when O left we only had 35 scholarship players on hand; the program was toxic. Kelly worked a miracle last year. We are a decent team this year and could end up being very good. We are creating a different culture at LSU that will eliminate the gun toting women abusing, dog abusing, and sometimes mentally defective guys from wearing the purple and gold.
Hold on now and let me find my safe place...

Why can't we move him to another role? This is a business
I mean you could but if he isn't wanting that it's a bad look for us. You're right. This is a business and your employees aka coaches are a small pool of people who all talk with each other. When word gets out we effectively forced Lindsey out of the picture while he was sick, what does that do for lsu when they are looking to hire new coaches or recruit players?
Additionally, what top dline coaches are leaving mid season to come to lsu, especially after we forced our last one out for getting sick?
Unless Lindsey says he wants out or to be moved to an off field role, I don't see any way we get a new dline coach before the end of this recuiting cycle.

Both southern Mississippi and La have produced 4 or 5 top DL prospects in the past 4 years and we signed 1. That is well below our standard.

Our best players are young, ex. Womack, Jackson both flash big time. I tend to think our class is underrated. He just needs to hit on dt so we’re not scabbing every year with the portal.

Yes, but not sexually if that is what you were thinking.

Can you name all of the guys that we eliminated that toted guns, abused women, and/or dog abused while wearing the purple and gold the past 5 years? What an absolutely insane statement especially considering that Brian Kelly happily welcomed Denver Harris to the team this year.
That would be easy to do, but I am not going to list names.

Wingo is not staying he is going to be a second day selection or if he keeps improving he maybe a first rounder.

I agree...Mason doesn't look like he has the same explosiveness he once had he should stay another year. I thought the defense got more pressure on the qb when #99 jefferson was in the game
