The NCAA will allow multi-school transfers in the portal for the 2024-2025 season… not sure if this was posted since the decision to let current transfers to play in basketball this season.

This is WITHOUT a waiver.

Partially not their fault. Once congress ruled the way they did, they have no ability to enforce limits or caps on anything. Just opens them up to lawsuits. It's the universities and conferences fault. Everyone is afraid of being left behind, so just tread water til it all blows up.

The only way to fix it is stop supporting but that’s not going to happen.

So

It’ll be JV NFL now

Players don't get to leave NFL teams whenever they want.

There are very strict and specific rules.

Once congress ruled

It was the Supreme Court. That makes it even more difficult to set limits.

Not exactly what it says as I read it. It read it as, essentially, that students who transfer during the 23-24 academic year (and implies while the injunction is active) can play in the 24-25 season without having to sit out.

So a guy like Harris could now transfer and play next season

Moments away from 1 or 2 teams officially being like the LA Dodgers of college football. Openly outspending for one year title runs …

Oh wait. We are there.

So currently, college sports is a 100% free agency professional business for the athletes.

clamdip Nailed It.

Make Lobbying a chargeable crime and then we will see how pure capitalism is truly designed to function.

No.... they just get treated like spiiled brats and cry about contract renegotiation just a year after signing a new contract.

In hindsight, as much as people bitched about the NCAA being Nazis when it came to illegal benefits, they kind of had to be that way. Any rule they make will be abused and loopholes will be figured out. Pay for play is still illegal, but we have coaches openly talking about how much it cost to buy a QB in the portal

They are really in no win situations. Over policing is the only way to actually uphold any rules. Once congress got involved it became a death sentence.

I don't understand how the NCAA is still around. They pick and choose who they want to go after when they know everyone cheats and has been cheating forever.

I find it humorous that they've decided to after Michigan after this sign-stealing situation, when there are programs that are doing things 10xs worse. IMO, being caught stealing signs is like getting caught picking your nose at church - not a good look, but not that big of a deal, comparatively speaking. What about the programs that were buying cars, houses, prostitutes and funneling large sums of money when NIL didn't exists?

Everybody cheats!

Eventually the SEC will break away from the NCAA and the other 3 majors will follow.

NCAA is a zombie institution.
