Feels like we aren’t even trying to get some of the top guys out there and just getting players who are from Louisiana. We need talent whether homegrown or from china.

If reports about the Ohio State CB are true, he played HS ball in the state of Ohio.

You’ll learn soon enough this is the right approach.

He also went to Warren Easton and I believe Louisiana is where he’s from.

When was he at Warren Easton? I don't remember him playing there.

Thanks. Did he play ball in New Orleans as a Freshman and then move to Ohio to play there (live maybe with relatives) because he wanted to go to Ohio State originally.

Anyway, looks like a solid CB who could 100% help this team next year.

This approach is damn smart. It’s the easiest sell (come home to Mama and make your community proud). It reinforces relationships with Local HS coaches, because that is what the real focus is. BK with the help of Polian and Wilson have built a fence around the Louisiana Portal. Look at all the players we put in college and the pros. Why would you not invest in that?

WEST CHESTER – On April 22, Ohio State's 2022 recruiting class got stronger with the addition of defensive back Jyaire Brown. At the time Brown played for Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Then June 9, Lakota West High School football got stronger when Brown announced he was moving and transferring to play with Coach Tom Bolden's Firebirds, Originally from Cincinnati, Brown's family is relocating and he's expected to be eligible under Ohio High School Athletic Association transfer rules involving a bona fide change of residence.

Going after regional guys (Louisiana/Texas/Mississippi) is something we’re going to lean into more and more in the NIL and transfer portal era. We don’t have an elite NIL warchest, so going after guys willing to take a little less in order to stay close to home will help our money go further. Local guys are also less likely to bolt in the portal at the first sign of adversity or at the first big offer that comes in from another school

This is why we get them lol. If they weren’t from here they’d likely be harder to gey

If he can play I don’t care where he is from. I want to get the best. He is no where close. We need dogs especially on the DLine and secondary. We just got a guy who set the bench at Auburn. BK keeps saying he wants to develop high school recruits but they did not develop this year. Our secondary did not improve all year. We are 2 years away from being able to solely count on HS recruits. . We need elite plug and play in the portal for next season or we are gonna go 9-3 or 8-4. Oh yeah and fire the DC and the entire defensive staff.

This is exactly what you should handle first. Easy picking of guys that left and want to come back. Much easier to pull these guys back.

A Louisiana 3* is likely a 4* in most other areas. I’m not a fan of solely going after Louisiana, but I’d prefer the border be closed and then raid east Texas(which will get more difficult now).

I say this all the time. But everybody is like he’s from MA we’ve got to get them. He was a badass in high school, but couldn’t get on the field in college.

Burns, Sam, Ausberry, Anderson, all trash.
