No one wants to commit to saying this team will dominate due to cautious pessimism . I get it.

Yeah I mean we have no idea how they will mesh together. Excited nonetheless

I mean the team has to gel baw. The team on paper this year was elite, not so much on the field.

There’s still a ton of questions, offensive line, tackles in particular, depth along the defensive line, Leavett’s foot, getting everyone on the same page offensively with basically all new starters. We got some things to work through but we are in a lot better position to do so than two months ago.

“On paper” is a phrase that has been used for decades to describe football scenarios. It’s not new or novel.

BiggaGeauxrilla gets it. Pay attention to what he says. Obviously knows what quality over quantity means. Games are won on the line of scrimmage. We aren’t there yet especially the interior dl.

Close this class with Seaton, Princewill, and Lee and I’m calling an 11-12 win regular season.

This is why we have a new offensive coaching staff.

While I agree with this mostly, coaching matters! You could have swapped offensive staffs last year between ole sis and LSU and both teams would have had vastly different years. The cia bing matters

Is that bad? I mean team chemistry is incredibly underrated at how important it is when you did a complete roster overhaul. Not saying we lack coaching for that but any coach would have trouble getting a roster like this hitting on all cylinders immediately. Even Saban would struggle. Just seems unrealistic to think this team will be at the top immediately. As I said in other thread, if they survive the first half of the schedule I could see this team making a run through playoffs because everything should come together more to see a team improve.

Seems like a very realistic and straightforward approach.

Listen, we had no chance with Kelley. Period.!!! we have now become competitive with Texas with Georgia with Alabama with A&M. We may not win the SEC or get in the finals of the college football playoff, but we had absolutely no chance with Kelley.!!! NONE!

Elite but also dependent upon a healthy Nuss. And our OL really let us down.

It’s what we didn’t get that worries me. Left tackle and a JJ type all star receiver. Lock down corner in man to man coverage opposite of what we have. I see no disrupter in the backfield DT. What we got is a team back with unknown performance of a team. At least we will have 11. Players since LOL star is gone. The good thing is we filled holes and numbers and. Should be 3-4 games better next year with serviceable and possibly outstanding qbs.

I am a lot happier with OL and safety still want a proven Lt tackle. Rub I’m so glad Durham and Berry stayed. A lot happier with QB room. Don’t know how we got three potential stars. Fall practice will be a hoot.

depth along the defensive line

That have plenty of depth on the defensive line mam, especially if they bring in Prince. How many people do you want, they have like 20 linemen lol
