Believe he was a walkon for the '21 season. No reason for him not to be on scholarship for '22 season.
I believe he has to be here for 2 years to not count as an initial scholarship counter.

Is Pig Cage not a CB? Not on scholarship?
He’s not on scholarship. He was a walk on transfer.
He deserves a scholarship after last year, but the numbers might get tight so it remains to be seen whether he is actually awarded.
But to your point - yes, he does provide some additional depth that was not included in that list.
ETA: From what I’ve read I believe it’s one year for a “non-recruited athlete” to not be an initial counter. So theoretically he could be awarded in the fall. Unless it’s different for transfers.

I think he will get one under the 85.
Pig cage is more of a safety/nickel

They've had him listed as a strong safety when he's been on the depth chart. And strong safety was what he played at Nicholls.
He's a strong safety.

House is going after some huge corners. His corners in 2018 at UK were 6’4” and 6’2” and both around 200lbs. Must be how he like a to use them.

He played nickel mostly when he played this past season.

Anyone against the impact of a 1 year starter simply needs to look at what the RB for Michigan State (Kenneth Walker) did for them in 2021. Go for it.

On top of that they can't be picky. Jalen kimber would've been the perfect mix of youth with some experience but there really isn't anyone out there as of now.

Agree. 2022 is a transition season. We need immediate impact players while the staff gets its footing and starts to work through rebuilding the roster going forward.
Right now CB is the most unsure position from a player and coaching standpoint so I expect a lot of tinkering until we find what works.

I realize we have no CBs. However a 1 year fix for a serious depth problem is not the way to go. There will be more great CBs to hit the portal in the next handful of months. A 1 and done player is not what we need.
You are looking at this the wrong way. The depth problem exists because upperclassmen like Flott/Ricks/McGlothern left. Chances are they all would have only been here one year more max if they did stay so yes a one year player to replace them is perfectly fine. Players for this year is literally what we need so McGhee and Welch aren't forced to play before they are ready and we can focus on CBs next cycle.
