That makes no sense, but he’s not a take. He’s a statue. The only one I would want from the portal at this time is Dante Moore or maybe Ward.

Just shows that most fans have no idea what they’re talking about.

Can someone explain this one?
Who are they expecting that would make McCord think he isn’t going to play?
Because starting for OSU is about as good as it gets…

Dante Moore

He was thought to be a Buckeye after decommitting from Oregon.

Then UCLA came in from nowhere

its very possible he got ran out of there, OSU fans are used to a certain level of QB play and they didn’t get that this season
feel like he should’ve gotten this upcoming offseason to develop further but I guess not

Day wouldn't guarantee him the starting job.

They are going to get one of these top portal qbs.

He was atrocious. It’s very hard to make that receiver room look pedestrian but he did.

Ryan Day didnt commit to McCord being the starting QB recently in interviews for next season. This tells me he's looking to replace him, and potentially being out the playoff told him they are starting Devin Brown the backup to see what he's got in the bowl game or working him in some series early on....clearly something got told to McCord that didnt sit well with him.

Devin Brown is a year behind McCord (2022 vs. 2021 for McCord) and they will roll with him in the bowl game, but they are all excited about Air Noland coming in, granted I dont know how well they would expect a true freshman to play in year 1 if he did take over. I doubt he would be as consistent as McCord was even if McCord wasn't impressive.

They have had elite QB play and immediately by everyone the past several years there so their perception of how a QB should play and right away is a bit skewed from reality sometimes. McCord was alright and was a first year starter they just expected a lot more because they've been completely spoiled by QB play up there.

Haha exactly. Every player that enters the portal we need and must take a shot at. 95% of this board only watch LSU football and have no clue about the sport.

I’d take him as a back up/bridge to Underwood. Assuming we land Underwood, we’ll need an experienced arm for him to compete against as RS Freshman after Nuss goes pro.
