If he's making that comment after 15 bowl practices, they don't feel good about the development of some of the young guys on the roster.

I disagree with that statement. I think he just wants the best to push his chips all in on a championship.

Or they don't like how thin we are at every position along the line

That's pretty crazy. I thought another Campbell/ Jones type would emerge with one of the Freshmen.
So, how high is the staff on Tyree and Weston at Tackle for next season?
Are Moore and Thompson locked in to start next season?
Are they anticipating Mebanga and Chester to start or looking to upgrade?

Im with you - this seems to raise more questions than it answers. Staff must not like the O-line we have on the roster. Sounds like we missed on the last couples of years O-line hauls.

Is Fa'alili Fa'amoe (Wash St) on the market? I know he has been a target for a while but thought he would be somewhere by now.

All the smoke was on Nebraska a couple weeks ago

If the development of the linemen currently on the team isn't up to standards, I think that issue would fall on the feet of Brad Davis.

For reference, here's your OL roster
Adams - RS FR
Bordelon - RS SO
Chester - RS FR
Echols - FR
Lee Jr. - FR
Mubenga - RS FR
Calloway - FR
Davis - FR
Williams - FR
There is a a reason why the staff are trying to go get upperclassmen with experience on the OL. It's not because we missed the past couple years, it's because we are very young on the OL.

I mean at some point you have to get these guys playing time right? If not they will leave as RS SO or RS JR who have never played more than mop up duty and go somewhere they can get time while we continue to bring in guys with experience.

Maybe, maybe not.
But to the other guys point of them pushing all the chips in for a championship next year, it could just mean that after the additional evaluation time, they don't feel like some of the young guys are ready to consistently contribute NEXT YEAR, but there may not be any worry about their long term development and how Davis is handling things.

I think we may already have an OL in the barn from a team that's still playing so the comment adds up. Not sure last press conference they were feeling too optimistic on Josh Thompson and had made other arrangements.
We may take 16 or 17 instead of 15 now.

That's a lot of young talent with 2 borderline 5 stars in Curne and Solomon Thomas coming in.

He knew what he had/didn't have before these practices.

That must be why he waited until after them to amend his statement about how many OL we're going after in the portal.

If either is starting next year, yikes.

Saw yesterday he just wants to up the dollars he's being paid at WSU.

Gotta do what you gotta do when receipts are being kept. Let’s see what the youngsters look like in the bowl game.

Cushenberry was horrible until his senior yr. Damone Clark was horrible til his last year. Brandon Taylor was very bad his first year as a starter. Guys get stronger, improve, and game slows down. Chester at guard, and mubenga another yr in weight room, dont give up on tigers.
