My rant...Portnoy is the mastermind behind all these moves. Dude understands how to win, its that simple. Going public about offering. My opinion, he had a hand in getting Connor Stallions hired to be an inside man (he's been on barstool shows numerous times this year). And he would be willing to up his money if it meant landing Underwood with a deal that makes him unable to transfer. It's not BK and it's not Sherone Moore. It's guys with money that know how to play the game for their team. With a few weeks left, LSU has the better relationship, they just have to match the offer. Whatever it may be, if they thinks the #1 overall recruit is a program changer, they will pay it. Losing Meadows is almost a certainty now tho. Hurts for sure. Sucks we lost to Bama the way we did in front of the biggest recruiting weekend in LSU history. These last 3 weeks of LSU football has been hard to watch. BK gone? Someone more "louisiana" to take over? Michigan pulling an OSU/Ole Miss from last year and buying a class.

Yeah, it’s looking like college ball will start being all about what school can get the biggest billionaire to pay the players

Here’s the other side. These NIL contracts are very short in duration and there is literally nothing keeping the player from bailing a year, even months after the contract is signed. They are not employment contracts. Some of these contracts are month to month and you literally have players trying to “renegotiate” on a weekly basis.

The players are playing these millionaires like fools because they have ALL of the leverage.

And this is precisely why alot of people are about done with college sports.

Either put a salary cap and revenue sharing to level the playing field for all schools, or just make commitments year to year and the entirety of college football becomes free agents every single offseason

Honest question: Who would you rather have as a coach? Brian Kelly or Sherrone Moore?

Tactical Syrup, if Michigan can cheat better and recruit better then everyone else they could win a NC in a couple of years. Billionaires certainly are helping their cause in achieving top recruits.

No excuse to lose Stewart with all the $$ we are saving from Underwood and Meadows.

I'm done with college ball myself, I mean I'll still watch it because I love watching football. I played the game and it's just in my blood, but it's ridiculous now what they're paying these kids. I mean college football used to be about going to school to play for your favorite university. The school that you looked up to your whole life and you wanted to represent it, your state, and the people that you love. To help the school win a national championship, it was all about pride. Kinda high-school continued to the next level, and to top it all off you got a great free education. Now, it's all about greed, money, money, and money! Now, it's just about recruiting the highest paid top mercenary now imo no matter where they come from, there is nothing special about it now. Smh

I agree with CFB going the way of CBB for me

No team investment

But for the sake of this discussion, Underwood’s money will have to be spread amongst the remaining committed players for a chance to keep them

It will be desperation. God bless LSU’s donors. They have to make frick you money to maintain interest in what has become Minor League FB

Loyalty, allegiance, tradition, all down the drain. Even former players who went on to capitalize and earn a living playing FB are disgusted by it.

This year Michigan, last year Ole Miss, year before A$M. Next year someone else. PR, fan interest, and selling tickets is what counts. Like the NFL, no more dynasties just parity.

Go watch Michigan insiders. They’ve been talking about the floodgate recently being opened to practically unlimited NIL and ever since you’ve seen them flipping top recruits from the best programs. Michigan isn’t suddenly the cool school, it’s the make me rich quick school.

It’s not that Michigan is the go to school over LSU it’s nil. This has ruined college sports they need to at least put a cap on this where it makes it an equal opportunity for all Universities to land top recruits.

Moore. We know the ceiling with kelly is 9 regular season wins in the SEC with 1 being FCS.

Moore is an unknown quanity but has much more upside.
