But I don't think that is why Wade was fired. He was fired based solely on the basketball violations.

I hope you're info is correct. There's no reason LSU can't be a top 25 team consistently, with a shot to win the whole thing every few years. Historically, we're the second best program in the SEC. Granted, Kentucky is FAR ahead of everyone else.

We're top 10 ALL TIME nationally in signing McDonald's/Parade AAs. Our all time team is as good as any. All it takes is HIRING and KEEPING a good coach here.

How could you possibly know this without seeing the roster?

I’ll say this, one of the guys who brought this up is top notch when it comes to football. If he says it I believe it, no idea how valid he is with basketball though.

Which players?

I believe it.

I don't think you are going to see a repeat of this year roster wise.

And which of those violations have actually been determined to have occurred and resulted in sanctions? I’ll hang up and listen.

ETA. The Woodward hacks are out in full force, heard from several this week to assure me that the NIL checkbook is open and we are “cutting deals” to get a quality roster next year. They all seem to ignore, this is not football or baseball where we can throw out top $ and a high end coaching staff.

Even if we are putting up money equal to other good P5 schools (which I highly doubt), how does MM sell? So far, not so good.

I'd be absolutely shocked if the roster was as bad as it was this year.

The roster wasn’t that bad. This team competed very well until January. I know most of those games were against soft opponents, but we beat a Sweet 16 team in Arkansas and should have gone to OT with an elite 8 team in Kansas St.

The management of that roster when competition was tougher is another story, but neither the Arkansas or K State games were flukes.

I’d be shocked if the roster is substantially better next year.

It is strange that you acknowledge the ability of the roster to reach those points starting from absolute zero, but now....

Do you not think that the remaining 8 players are stronger than the 4 that left?

Do you not think that the 3 new players will be quality and that the returning players will improve?

You mean the people who are happy that our women’s basketball team is in the final 4, our football team was in the SEC championship in year 1, and our baseball team is #1 and 19-3, while being realistic about the shite sandwich Will Wade left behind?

There no quicker way to look like a complete moron than to act like people are hacks for defending our AD when he’s doing an extremely good job. You’re the only hack here you dipshit

I hope it's right. We'll just see how the roster shapes up.

That’s the problem, McBland thought he had SEC talent and you thought it was mid level. Well the proof was in the pudding, it was cellar level talent where it proved it’s worth. He thought they were playing D1 ball because he had 1 exceptionally elite player that he lucked up and got , won a few tournament games. But right now he’s half way across the quick sand and acts as if he’s about over his head. Good Guy, suspect recruiter, aight Coach? but an AWESOME contract negotiator. So far Facts

Caleb Love, UNC, just hit the transfer portal. Paging Mr. Gordon ...

Love, a junior guard, averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Tar Heels this past season. He was a five-star recruit and the No. 2 point guard in the country coming out of high school.

No, I mean the people who cannot objectively look at the men's basketball situation and admit that Woodward made mistakes.

Kind of the like the guy on Sunday who kept saying, we just need to give "Mike" a chance. The dumbass was on here defending Woodward's basketball decisions and didn't even know the coach's name. That is a hack and this board has been filled with them for several days now. It's almost like Woodward feels like he has to do damage control...

Lol I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say Woodward is probably secure enough in what he’s doing that he doesn’t need people on a message board defending him.

We aren’t talking about Ed Orgeron here

There is little doubt that McMoribund will be the coach for the next 2 to 4 years. Perhaps another year like this year would signal a sooner demise.

There is also less reason to believe he is the right coach for LSU now than just after his hiring last year. His initial class was better than many expected. He did much less with that class than most predicted. He is losing his best player. His incoming freshman class is just okay. This next season will be determined by who transfers in and out. It also will be determined by whether he improves as a coach keeping his team together and adjusting his level of coaching to a power 5 conference.

I hope he succeeds, but the task is huge.

I guess you’re just replying in general and not specifically to me bc I’m actually in the camp of wanting to be optimistic about McMahon.

I’m not in the group who repeatedly spews lame arse insults by modifying his name or constantly bitches about the season

I was disappointed like everyone else who cares about the program but I’ll support him until he’s no longer the coach

I will say my faith in him took a bit of a hit last season but he will have another year to show some improvement. If he doesn’t then I wouldn’t be surprised to see a change made
