McMahon is beyond over his head. WTF thought it was a good idea to even interview this incompetent, let alone hire him?

Current two commitments definitely ain't going to get us to the promise land. The Elephant in the room is his recruiting skills. This to me will doom him if he can't do better than the 60th ranked team in the nation.

The fact that none of the influential people are bitching about McMahon tells me that the fan base has no clue as to what he is trying to do.

But, to try and place all of the blame for said SEC results on either one or the other is short-sighted. It was a combination of both and both had ramifications that lead to the results this season.
And this is the point. The team wasn’t some incredible collection of talent, but it certainly wasn’t as bad as it performed. That ultimately falls on coaching. My breakdown of the team talent is to point out that McMohan didn’t roll out the LSUA generals roster. He had enough talent to win 5-6 SEC games, but instead we finished dead least in the standings. There was a clear lack of creativity and effort in game planning through the year, and there were some seriously questionable rotation decisions.

Well you're a Southeastern fan, so....
Yeah I’m also an alum which doesn’t change my original statement.

Nobody is dumping millions to financially back a HC they have zero confidence in. If you can't see how bad this guy is as a coach you don't watch basketball. He could've did much better with what he had even if they didn't have a top flight roster in talent. There's tons of terrible coaching moments throughout the season.
He's dead man walking. He'll by fired in a few years. He's clearly in over his head.

Yeah, I mean, we had all the best coaches banging down our door to take a seat under the NCAA's version of the Sword of Damocles.

Scott Woodward has wrought success!
McMahon may not be a fit, granted, but for heaven’s sake let him set a foundation.
I really enjoyed what WW brought to our MBB Program, but evil people in Baton Rouge, at ESPN and YAHOO are/were determined to wreck our Program. The Zombie in BR, who will not relent in interference, will get his judgment day and the living will not have the satisfaction of witnessing.
Scott May have finally given a huge enema to our athletic department….wait and see!!!

I honestly don’t know the answer, but are you allowed to earmark your contribution to Bayou Traditions for a particular sport?

How many years are you going ride that dead pony.
That won't fly. Self was back in the tourney with the same sword.

The NCAA may be slow, but we will get some kind of sanction. And so will Wade. The fact we fired Wade and now have legalized cheating thru NIL should help reduce our penalty.
Posted on 3/23/23 at 9:08 pm to tiger81
Haha! At most we will lose a scholarship, but I don’t even expect that.
If Wade doesn’t get a show cause (and he won’t), then firing him did not change the outcome.

They'll probably do some pointless strip the victories nonsense but doubt anything major. What's the point now?

This roster was talented enough to perform better than 14-19 (3-17 including SECT),
Playing basketball without guards is like playing football without a QB. LSU had ZERO ability to run an offense with the 3 so called guards on the 2023 roster.

Maybe he won't...but maybe he will. Scott's hands were pretty much tied in the situation. Had to protect football at all costs.

I can't imagine what gave you the idea that "influential people" have a clue about making LSU or the State great.

Do you mean happen again? Because this years team was loaded with SEC caliber players that he squandered.
This team beat Arkansas then imploded.

Is getting some boosters who are willing to drop about a zillion bucks into the NIL program right now
so, there's no hope then...

There is talk on paid sites that they already have five commitments with two having Louisiana ties. Guys coming through the door are better than guys exiting. Extremely vague posts but tfwiw.
