Kelly won’t do bidding wars. Even if he did , we can’t out pay them.

Just curious how much money you had in the offering since you included yourself in the inability to out pay Texas.

That doesn't mean he's not the one telling them where it should be spent. It's clear he doesn't want kids who let money primarily decide where they go to college

So Texas didn't want any of the players who have committed to LSU? You can't be that naive. Then again, maybe you are.

I don’t understand why you’re getting downvoted. Seems like a lot of the fanbase wants to stick their head in the sand about where college football recruiting is right now. It’s a straight up bidding war for these five star, top 50 guys. And LSU isn’t outbidding Texas and Texas AM.

Those two schools have poured the most money into NIL and Texas passed laws allowing them to be the most direct in giving it to recruits. LSU isn’t going to win many head to head battles against them for guys at the top of the board, especially because Kelly has expressed a desire to be judicious when it comes to NIL funds when it comes to high school recruits.

mighty noble of him, I'm sure he's accepted the same salary with each job change he's had in his career lol. Most here would advise there kid to do the same thing when you remove the fandom.

We didn't need to for Harold Perkins and Denver Harris.

There's nothing stopping a 5 star from taking 7 figures from a dumb team then transferring out a year later. If BK continues to win and develop players for the draft, it will be better to play for LSU than Texas or A&M.

Kelly has been building up programs and winning almost twice as long as any of these recruits have been alive, and he just took his first major payday when he came to LSU.

I'm thinking Kelly playing chess while Sar playing checker. Kelly probably ran the bid up for Simmons so high that they may not be able to afford Mckinney and Mack?? lol

You're an idiot if you don't think Kelly has his input to the NIL collectives when it comes to recruits. If he says we HAVE to have this kid, the collective will pony up. If he says we're not participating in a bidding war, the collective holds pat on their offers.

That’s not true. Idk why y’all keep spouting this line of bullshite. He did so for Harold Perkins. If it’s a guy that he really wants, that he thinks is a must get, he’ll pay up.

This is a different matter altogether, and likely true. But y’all saying Brian Kelly isn’t willing to go after recruits with everything he has at his disposal is just a downright falsehood. His job mostly depends on it.

I don’t think these always come down to bidding wars. If they get the figure they want or near it, kids are gonna stay closer to home. 78% of recruits choose a school because of vicinity/closeness to home. Texas is a blue blood. In state. I think the same helps us with McKinley. C’mon, he’s in Lafayette.
