Precisely. How much more of this shite show do we need to watch.
He should've been canned after going 14 and MOTHERFLUCKING 40, but our administration thinks things are just fine.

Doesn’t sound like we have had too much smoke. Have you heard anything?

Got a creighton crystal ball on 247 tonight. I’m not really sure who we’re going after right now.

Man we have fizzled out hard in the portal, things are not looking great for nextseason if we can't close this class out.

Yeah before I evaluate I’m gonna be patient and wait to see how they finish out the rest of the class. But the back end of this portal haul has been weird. The on3 and 247 guys have no idea what the plan is, annd anybody I ask is also totally in the dark right now.
We had Kennard Davis if we wanted to pay him but we didn’t. His dad was shopping him really hard hence why at one point Iowa, Ohio state, and then eventually LSU all ended up falling back on him. He got around 1.3 from BYU who is pretty much in a drag race with Kentucky for biggest spenders this portal class. Either money is actually getting low for us or there’s a bigger fish they wanna bring in but there’s not too many of those guys left.

CMM went out hard and fast by closing the deal with Dedan Thomas Jr, who was considered a Top 5 portal guy at the time. Thomas Jr has dropped significantly in the rankings as better guards entered the portal later on.
Now, this is where things get foggy. Based on public comments, it appears that LSU approximately doubled the NIL budget from $2 million to $4 million, give or take. Thomas Jr. is rumored to have cost north of $2 million. Then R. Miller got $1 million plus to stay. Then add in the other portal guys. What does that leave CMM with? I did see that there were 600 walkons and players with no eligibility left in the portal. I'm sure one of those guys would sign for cheap

I don’t think things were ever looking that great. Our coach has a 14-40 conference record. Just have to wait it out next year. Hopefully we then get a real coach although I’m sure the excuse/narrative machine will be in overdrive all season long.

That’s because not even the staff has an idea what the plan, vision or philosophy is for this program should be. It’s all about getting as much talent as possible, putting together stubborn game plans that do not fit player strengths and creating erratic and head scratching rotations from game to game.

Yea seems, as many have said, our NIL commitment was not what we thought. With just average money and a coach who has not won and the fanbase wants gone, makes sense that guys aren’t coming.

So next season will just be a waste of time. Fun.

PJ Carter from Memphis is a name to look out for.
That's probably in line with what LSU has left in NIL. A 5th year player who was 7/8th man at Memphis last season and has gotten interest from UCF, Fordham, Murray State, etc.

Annnd Harper commits to creighton... Sigh

Unless I’m completely lost, which is possible, there is a lawsuit going on involving a Rutgers football player trying to bust the 5 year limit. I think the case is only about that. Saw it last week I think on MSB. A decision on that is imminent if hasn’t happened already. I’m sure athletes from all sports will latch on to that if successful.

Blake harper was a guy I really wanted.
Smooth lefty with a great shot. Meac player of the yr as a freshman.
He had to have cost at least 1 or 1.5
Wonder what Creighton's nil budget is for basketball.

quote:6'4" guard who has shot 40% from 3 the last 2 years and 93% at the line last year. Looks pretty solid.

He might even have two years of eligibility since he played a bit in the covid year, then 4 games over the following 2 years likely due to injury.
If we made the final 4 list with Harper we might just have enough for a final big get. I am sure we had to make a qualifying offer to make it to his final 4.

I've noticed a few Euro signings the last couple of days. There appears to be very little info out there on what teams are going after what Euro players. This might be a better option for CMM vs what's left in the Portal in Lsu's budget range.
