Down to 84 scholarship players now with Langlois also medically retired it's been said

Mcbryde and K. Jackson are the future.

It sucks because I think he could've worked here but we also needed a guy to step out
Best of luck to him

This is one I wish would have stuck it out and got coached up. The guys that are in the 2/3 spot on the depth chart would be 1's on special teams are needed.

Don't we still have like 8 Safeties?
That means we have guys who can fill in on special teams still. Just might not have any experience.

sucks to lose but there was a lot of fat to trim at safety

Had to make room. Someone was always going to be the odd man out.

Should've been Sage Ryan and Burns. If they could get a starter in the portal and start one of the young guys like Jackson that would've been ideal. Not sure the portal has anyone available at S though. The younger S looked way better than Ryan/Burns in spring game. I think they should just start them and get growing pains because you know what you have in front of them which is guys who hurt the defense.

Yea, two starters transferring would have been awesome

You’ve read his dipshit posts. Hell no he doesn’t. He’s lucky he can get his Velcro shoes on.

Those two wouldn’t start on any other top tier team in the SEC.

Yeah, and the guys behind them actually looked better in the spring game and have way more upside. So you continue to bench ride them when Burns/Sage have continued to hurt the defense for years? Then risk more transfers? Your upside is better with the young guys and if the portal had anyone available, I'd seriously consider pushing for at least 1 S. So take your pick growing pains with guys who have upside or keep the 2 guys in front of them you know will hurt the defense.
Burns and Ryan are who they are and it's probably not going to change. All 3 of the "veteran" players looked significantly worse in spring. Could be adjustment period and change in coaching/scheme but Sage has never really shown anything in his time here but limitations. I will give that Burns did look pretty good his first half of BK's first year so maybe it was just coaching why he regressed last year. Either way, if a big S is an opportunity in the portal they need to find room for it because it's a major handicap right now on defense.
