Orgeron had to do this.

Pretty much agree. I don't like doing this in theory, but I think we need to at the moment. We have to get back to locking down 99% of Louisiana recruits.

Looking at rodney’s Twitter, he’s posted a lot of stuff about Shyheim carter and Isaiah Buggs at Bama, but also some LSU stuff. Who knows.

I don’t like Amite having that close connection to Bama.

All about severing that connection to that parish. Palmer was the start, Lee is up next. Secure Ish and they're done in Tangipahoa.

Dont think there's any big time 2020 kids there.

I think this is a terrible idea... You offer a guy just to get his brother (let's be honest here) whom has had recent issues in the work ethic department. What if Ish doesn't work out? It happens a lot - then you've wasted two spots in a recruiting class.

Idk, I don't get it.

I wonder how long it will take before new CB's to LSU roll in for Ish.

Then one or both will be processed with little concern from me. If they're going to play this game, they can't be shocked if their scholarship spot is taken away and given to someone else later.

I have zero issue with this. Perhaps I would if it was common, but it's not. It happens once every few years, which is fine.

Optics? This is more than about optics. They want Sopsher (Ishmael) enough to offer a project that they wouldn't normally offer.

would you take Leonard Fournette again?

what about Ed Oliver over at Houston?

both guys looked out for their brothers. Both guy are generational type players. I dont know if Sospher will be, but by people that know more than me, he seems to be a special talent

speak as someone who had some hands on exposure to recruiting, its a damn smart play.

youre wrong

ETA: What if the young man actually has some value and can play? Let's not short change him.

the rub is that schollys are year to year. there are no 4-5 year guarantees.

now, programs also know what the optics are if you don't honor a gentlemans agreement......momma needs security so to speak.

Why not just do like Bama did with DJ Fluker's brother and make him a scholarship equipment manager?

This essentially means LSU has worked this out and it's a done deal for both of them. No way LSU is going to make this offer without all the details on the table.

I certainly have no problem with it under the right conditions. However, Bama has 6 DL already committed and their numbers are getting tight. To me, it is highly unlikely Bama was going to make this deal.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened otherwise. But, I agree that O couldn't take any unnecessary risks.

My feeling is, if the agreement to come to LSU depended on an offer for the brother, then they should respect the staff and sign during the early period.
