Getting Ish and further closing the door on Tangipahoa makes it worth it to offer Rodney.
Its also a position of need and the top guys in the state in younger classes need to see the older big dogs committing to LSU.

They have hard commits from QB (PRO) Taulia Tagovailoa (Little Brother of Tua) and QB (PRO) Paul Tyson (Great Grandson of Bear Bryant). If they make room for Rodney Sopsher somebody's going to have his panties in a bunch.

Well, frick, man, why recruit at all? Many highly rated players are busts - nature of the beat, sky high expectations. Freak was a good player, but there were impossible-to-meet expectations around the kid.

I didn't say don't recruit him. Recruit the hell out of him, his potential is 1st round. But don't waste a scholarship on his brother. He either wants to play here or he doesn't. Dont bribe the kid

This was the right move for LSU. I wonder if Rodney feels any remorse over the fact he didn't earn this offer himself. I wouldn't want to go to a school where I didn't earn my way in and won't make a difference.

He has the opportunity to get a college degree, be part of a big time program, and make memories with his brother that they can share for a lifetime. The self-loathing should be minimal.
