Because they did NOT want him. Slam O and staff for the Goodrich/Surtain/Foster cluster but Joiner had his chance to jump on board and wanted to wait. The new signing limit is forcing players to decide sooner than later or they get put on back burner. Only the elite recruits can wait till the last minute like Surtain

We got 2 running backs, Curry and Provens so I don't know what you are complaining about.

I think they wanted him, but made it known they weren’t waiting on him. I’m glad they kept their word, they have ammunition for next class.

I think there was also concern about his height. He's 6'3 and runs straight up. He's almost built more like a TE/WR than a RB. Bama recruited him too, but didn't want him as a RB.

Coach O is a monster when it comes to keeping in contact with recruits and their families. It’s either BS or they had someone rated higher....either way I’m fine with it.

They liked Curry better. If wasn't slowed by an injury his senior year he would have been ranked even higher. Watch his JR film. He's a very good RB.

yea he really knocked the cb recruiting out of the park last year. He’s a great recruiter of someone else’s team. I’m not sold at all he can recruit his own program to an elite level. Posted on 5/5/18 at 3:47 pm to jrobic4

No we didn't. Joiner was pressed to commit at early signing. He was told they might not be able to guarantee a spot after that due to limitations on number of schollys. He wanted his 15 minutes to announce at the all-star game. That was more important to him than securing his spot at LSU. At early signing, LSU got Curry and Provens and ran out of guaranteed spots for him, so they backed off.
Joiner tried to string out LSU, not the other way around and LSU told him what was going to potentially go down and it did.
